Common practice is to weigh at the same time every day (or weekly, whatever your preference is). I do, in the AM, after (ahem) constitution, etc. and then set about my day.

But the movement of weight doesn't seem to correlate with what I expect after waking.

I have taken to weighing again later in the day - around 2 or so - and find i am consistently 1-2 pounds lighter. this is after eating and drinking a lot of coffee, tea, water, etc. and lunch.

Typically folks are lightest in the AM - but i am finding i am not. psychologically, i love the afternoon number - wonder which is best? the one that makes me feel the best? Or - just make sure i weigh the same time each day?

today i was 152 in the AM and just got on at 150. either way ... sorry for the rambling.

I think as long as you are consistent with the time of day that you weigh yourself, you'll see which way the numbers are going. If afternoon makes you happy, stick with it. And remember to notice your clothes as they get looser. That will confirm the numbers.

How interesting. I only weigh myself in the morning, after the bathroom. When I do weigh myself later in the day then it's always a higher number.

i think Gillian, you are right - if, psychologically it makes me happier to see a lower weight, afternoon consistent weigh in. but i think for now, i am going to weigh both times and see if this trend holds true each and every day. @Snezica, i agree, should weigh more as the day goes on ... don't know ... i usually eat until 10PM at night, so maybe it's the salt, etc. and water that sluffs off as the day goes on? am going to monitor. thanks.
