This week I learned my lesson. I was in hurry so I stopped at Wendy's and ordered a burger without the bun. Next day I gained 2 pounds. Fast food is bad it just is. No exceptions. it took me an additional 3 days to lose that extra weight and now I won't meet my monthly goal. I am exactly 2 pounds short of meeting my goal. Ironic...... or fate or whatever but either way. lesson learned.

Recently, I have watched a few documentaries on Food--Fast Food in particular....be a long time before I go back in...I understand the lure..only to well...but that gunk is just the worst...my best to you..

You can't gain 2 pounds of fat in a day unless you took in 1000's of extra calories. Our weight changes throughout the day, it was probably water weight. Don't beat yourself up over having Wendys, fastfood isn't the end of the world.

Yes, the same happen to me yesterday. I had one slice of the bun. Latter, I looked at the calorie count-Man McDonald's food is so high in calories! I won't get on the scale today! LOL :)~Ann

I agree with both posts....one bunless hamburger would be suspect for a 2# gain BUT the salt and hidden ingredients in that hamburger surely would contribute to a water gain of 2#. You did the right thing to remove the bun and as you said, you have learned your lesson. When I do find myself in a situation where there is no alternative but to eat a "fast food" something, I make sure that I drink lots and lots of water afterwards. I am trying to carry something to eat with me at all times but it hasn't become a habit yet:) Sorry you didn't make your goal....but for this month, you have an idea as to why.....good luck.

Can guilt weigh 2 lbs.? I agree that fast food is very detrimental to success but I feel that you succeeded in how you handled eating out.It's not like you ordered fries and a big sugar filled soda. Give yourself a break. I am sure you will see the numbers on the scale decrease next time.

If you do that again, try adding a small side salad, with vinaigrette and chop up the burger and eat it that way. I did that when eating at Uno's and had no issues. I think adding the fiber helps.

Good job getting the burger without the bun though...it is the sodium they add to restaurant food that creates the gain.

Gillian, I like your idea of the small side salad with vinaigrette. you could add that to anything. Aurora, try cutting way back on your carbs for the next few days, that should help you get back to where you were.
