Does anyone else wish FS had two weight graphs? One from eternity, and one from your latest start?

Oh, I ran into someone who hadn't seen me in a while the other day. She's been trying to lose weight but is at a stand still. She asked me how I'd lost the weight and I told her what I'd been doing including the fact that I weighed my food. She said she didn't do that. She said she just watches her portion sizes. I said, "You watch them do what?"

Very true. I got a real eye opener when I started weighing food.

HaHa Ha Ha - I also weigh and measure everything! I have two sets of measuring cups and measuring spoons, and a weight scale.

Everyone's eyes are always bigger than their portion size! I use those dreaded "baby" dishes (get them from Dollar Tree). You know, the ones that are divided into 2 small and one larger sections? That hold enough food if you want to continue to "eyeball" it, but measuring is the best bet.

okay - that one made me laugh out loud! I also weigh or measure my food daily. The turkey on my salad, the pork chop, etc. If it's 4.2 oz., then that's what I record. Depending on the food, just a little bit can have a huge impact. I occasionally have some dark chocolate covered pomegranate candies. There are 100 calorie packs available (with about 6 peanut M&M size pieces in it, but also larger bags with 2 and 5 servings. Those servings are a bit bigger and have 140 cal each. If you eat the 5 serving bag (which is quite easy) BAM 700 calories. But even with straight up healthy stuff, portion creep is sooo easy. Thanks for the morning laugh!!!!!

Even when I was vegan I had a tough time with portions. A wee bit too much pineapple or a little extra brown rice adds up and next thing you know....woops an extra 10 pounds. No matter what diet you follow calories still count. Someone should do a top ten of diet tips for all diets. This should be number 1

I think you are all right its portion control. I have that problem too, I say Oh thats healthy just a tad bit more or another bite & it goes on n on. Struggling lately as I think I'm getting bored. Spring will help me as I will get outdoors more.
