Strange week, but I'm finally down a pound. The pounds aren't coming off as fast as I anticipated, but at least I'm moving in the right direction.

I always have this feeling that once I get to my ideal weight I'll be able to stop the diet, that I'll be able to relax my vigilance and add some other things to my diet. But that won't work. I have to accept that I will ALWAYS have to watch my weight and that I will always be on a diet for the rest of my life. I can have dessert once a week, and an occasional pasta, or slice of bread, but for the most part I have to keep the carbs and especially sugars out of my diet.
184.0 lb Lost so far: 17.0 lb.    Still to go: 6.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 1.9 lb a week

I agree... it helps to find new recipes for healthy eating and find creative fun ways to add this to your life... instead of feeling like it is a drag we can find ways to have fun and enjoy it. That is my goal anyway! It sounds like your doing good!!

Oh, I struggle with that too. I know that you are right, but I also hope that I will be able to be less restrictive than I am now once I'm trying to maintain, rather than lose. But you're right that healthy weight maintenance takes vigilance. Seems like you are making good progress. :)

I rather have a slow and healthy fat drop than something fast who can screw my entire body.

I think it's okay to let go for a week or so. I bought a new belt for weight lifting. I'm on the cut right now too. I have to lock it down. Anyway, weight lifting has been the thing that I love now and the diet simply supports it. I think that's the key. Focus on the weight and we focus on the wrong thing. Focus on the reasons why we want to keep a reasonable weight and we have an anchor, whether it's for our kids, our health, or to be able to help others. That's maintenance.

Oh, right. The weight belt is my guage now. I bought it fairly small for my current size. I don't want to buy another belt, so I'll cut anytime I get close to not being able to use it. Is my weight belt me reason for keeping lean? :D
