Herbie's Journal, 11 February 2015

Went for a run today at the gym-- did about 20 minutes jogging, 10 minutes of rowing on the erg, and a few walking laps. I'm proud of this because I usually go with a friend but she wasn't able to come today. Instead of staying home, I went anyway.

Also, I made Moroccan lentil soup for dinner and it was absolutely delicious! Highly recommended. The only downside is that it was in the slow cooker so the smell surrounded me all afternoon and made me hungry.

My daughter brought me a cupcake tonight (baked fresh for Valentines day party in the classroom) and honestly it doesn't even seem like something I want to eat. I'm glad about that, I think it's progress.

Way to go, Herbie! It's hard to turn down food from your children's hands, but those cupcakes never taste quite as good as they look.

Thanks, Cricket! Holidays are extra tricky with candy and baked sweets around. Luckily "Buster" (as the kids call him now) is a big fan of baked goods, so if I don't want something he's happy to help out. And dinner was actually a big hit with the kids too, which I didn't expect. Anna said "Are these lentils? I *love* lentils!" Who knew?
