I really need to find out what triggers middle of the night bingeing on sweets... It is really aggravating me. It is not all the time so I wonder if there is something missing on some nights that I go to bed and wake up at 3 in the am to eat. :(

I have trouble staying asleep and find that if I eat some protein before bed especially CHEESE it helps me sleep ALL NIGHT. I think the protein evens out your blood sugar and the calcium in the cheese helps. DON'T EAT "SINGLES" SLICED LUNCH style cheese---eat regular "cut off a chunk" cheese. Trust me I have struggled with this problem for years and this does help.

calcium and magnesium, minerals found in milk (and cheese) help to fall asleep and not wake up during the night. a glass of warm milk before bed could help...

Great ideas. I will try that... Do you think the babybel light swiss chunks will suffice? Or the warm milk sounds lovely.

I'm not at all sure why that happens, but it happens to all of us. You could try substituting something else. I've been eating dates lately, the beautiful Medjools are supposedly only 23 calories each and usually three or four of them is more than enough.

I have had medjool dates... lovely!!!! I did not realize that they are that low in cals. And I definately agree that 3-4 is enough... they are so sweet and lovely. It has been so long since I have had them.. will tryy.

My apologies, it seems I had the calorie count wrong. They actually seem to be between 50 and 70 calories each. Not good news but I still prefer them to chocolate and other sweets and find them very satisfying at even twice the price (in calories). :-)

I think they are still worth it. Thanks for letting me know. I rather be eating something with nutritional value vs junk. Thank you.
