Has anyone had any luck repairing there metabolism. I believe to much dieting has completely messed up my bodys natural metabolism. I'm not sure whether it's been the low carb, or the low calorie, but I can't seem to get the scales to budge anymore with either. After calculating my daily intake I am finding that I usually eat far less then recommended (like 700 less), with occasional binge days. I'm really looking for permanent changes, and trying to get my body running smoothly. I've continued exercising fir the most post, haven't been entirely consistent every month, I'm thinking about doing more weight training. I www going that someone would have some good advice on repairing metabolism.

When I plateaued I found that I was not eating my required amount of calories..700 is certainly not enough...your body will hold on to everything you consume as it will think it is going into starving mode...try eating more 1500 is a good amount to consume daily....when I started to eat more daily I then continued to lose more weight..... I hope this helps a little as it did I....if you are getting enough protein, carbs and fat and definitely exercise you will lose...I am on the Atkins plan and find that I have to really keep an eye on what I am consuming regularly...so far so good, sometimes slow but slow is good in order to keep the weight off...so far gone from 198 to 161..since May 25, 2014...hope this advice helps...good luck..:)

What worked for me was to stop starving myself and eat more. Not more junk mind you but more whole foods, lean meats, lots of veggies. etc. I eat roughly 6-7 times a day about 1800-2300 calories daily. I am not losing much "weight" at this time because I am bodybuilding. (I lift weights 6 days a week), but my body fat composition has changed dramatically in the last 4 months.
