newnormal's Journal, 18 January 2015

I bought a ham Friday and cooked it up. Ended up having some Friday and a good amount yesterday and today my hands are tight and the scale is up 3 lbs. I'm not weighing in today, will flush with water and wait for things to settle. I'll bless my friend (who's having hard times) with the ham. It tastes good, it's just not working with my body.

I did good yesterday, stayed away from the mini muffins and brownies at Sweet Tomatoes. I think the extra sugar from the kidney beans and the chili threw me off craving wise. Last night I wanted SOMETHING so I ended up with 2 apples. High in natural sugar but at least it was nutritious and I didn't pick up the chocolate at the store like I was thinking lol. Props for better choices.

I learned my lesson last week with salty foods, I was up 4 pounds in 24 hours, so I drank a lot of water with some lemon juice in it and about 24 hours the 4 pounds were gone.

I get bloated when I have an extremely high amount of salt. It's too bad because ham can be so delicious.

blood pressure is fine, generally 120/70 or below. More-than-usual salt sometimes affects retained water for me and that affects the scale and my hands get tight.
