Not a good food day yesterday, was ok until I was hungry for crunchy after work. I rarely buy chips, and I don't really like them: there was a bag of tortilla chips left from the family get together on top of my frig. I decided a few would be good, I kept eating them. Not good on my tummy, too salty, will throw the rest away today.

The African store I planned to go to was in the midst of moving to a new location, but still open amidst the piles of boxes and mostly empty shelves. What a mess! The new store is on one of my routes that I take home will check it out then. But the store keeper was kinda creepy. I did locate another one not far from work on the Kansas side, to try one day next week. Some days love the internet instead of just having the yellow pages.

So glad I have a 3 day weekend, my patience for stupidity was about used up by yesterday. Working in a customer service call center for a mutual fund company most if our calls are intelligent. There are times of the year it's not the case. Like now.

Here are a couple examples, these are funny. Woman calls to see if we received a form to update some info on her account. Wasn't there. She had mailed it the day before, regular mail to our overnight physical address not the PO Box. She thought that if she mailed it to the overnight address it would be sent overnight mail!

Another all upset because they hadn't received confirmation of their new account as promised in the mail. We received it back as undeliverable; they had put an old address from 2 years ago on the application, no current address. Duh!!! Can only laugh and wonder how these people make it through a day.....

Finish this cup of coffee and get busy on my day. Check on my neighbor. Finish taking down Christmas that was interrupted last week. Do the cooking I had planned last weekend that wasn't finished. 50+ degrees today so will clean out my filthy car and load it up to take to the salvation army. It's been so cold I keep putting that off and adding more. With chores done I can tackle some projects the next 2 days. Mostly hide from people....grins.

I like hiding sometimes, too. Well, it's easy for me to hide because I live so far away from everyone except a couple of neighbors. LOL! Loved to hear about your phone calls at work. *smiling* That could have been me calling you. I swear it sounds like the "brain farts" I have every now and then. LOL! You have an ambitious day ahead of you. Take care and don't work too hard.

I used to live in the middle of nowhere. Loved my garden to escape from people. My jobs have always been customer contact of some sort. My neighborhood is quiet, summertime I get interrupted often by neighbors out walking but it's all good. My backyard butts onto a quiet section of a park so its a nice escape during warmer weather. Actually kind of a piddling around day.

I was in sales most of my life, so customer service was all I did. I worked on commission and it got very old after a while. When we moved out here, I was so happy to be alone for the first few years. People in the city wondered how I stood it. They never worked the jobs I had. I was on my feet and catering to other people's whims everyday and depended on them to help me pay the bills, too. I did a lot of bowing and scraping. Very stressful! My neighbors out here aren't that close but they are the sweetest people I have ever met.

It's great to have a 3 days weekend - you can tick off all the things on your to do list one by one! Have a great long weekend!

Mom, people who don't work with the public don't understand. I'm on the phone all day. It's torture for me to pick up a phone and call someone to chit chat. I was in the restaurant business for years, college was paid for by tips. Taking a few minutes break, tree is finally down, most of the cleaning chores done, furniture re-arranged. Not going in hthe attic to get the container with the boxes for the crystal tree decorations, they are waiting on my dining room table. There are at least 2 coons up there, I can hear them, hoping Travis comes down this weekend to set the traps. Our schedules haven't been meshing. I sent him a text letting him know I saw them climb in about 2 am, dogs woke me up barking at them. 6000 steps so far today and it's 1:30. Back to my chores in a few.

Well done getting those 6000 steps in so early. Obviously Yoga doesn't use a lot of steps. I still only have one light lit on my FitBit. LOL! My daughter did the call center at the bank for one year and she would never call me on the phone. She was so sick of talking on the phone to anyone. She would text me and that was all. Now she isn't doing that job anymore and we have nice chats on the phone. LOL!

I've been there, done that with customer service. I completely understand where you are coming from when it comes to talking to family or other's on the phone. Working with people all day long it the last thing you want to do is talk. You just need quiet or something that doesn't take energy to concentrate on. I hope you get the Coon's trapped quickly. Enjoy your evening.

I would be interested in how the African store works out for you. Most of my positions I had to interact with the public. I so understand not wanting to "chat". I didn't even want a phone at home.

The one I went to earlier this week had some beans and grains I had not seen before, expensive though, I think due to location. I'm interested in trying them and other things. My research into African cooking shows interesting seasonings and lots of whole foods. Ok.. for me that means playtime!!! yes!! my introduction to couscous was in 1972 in Paris a north African dish in a little basement neighborhood lunch place someone told us about. Loved it!! It was 10 years before I saw couscous here.

Hoping on trapping the coons... their access was fixed and they tore another out to get in. I'm having the insulation taken out of my attic, it sanitized , and the insulation replaced but the coons need to be gone first. Big bucks at least for me to do all that, limited on the $$ taking it out of my 401k to do it. Dang coons are costing me.....

WOW! Those coons are expensive little critters to get rid of, aren't they? They definitely need to be trapped and let out far, far away from your house.

It's the damage they do that's expensive.

Yikes.....coons are destructive.
