Good Afternoon, FS Warriors! After noon, by 11 minutes. For some of you, it is still before noon. Isn't technology wonderful? :) There really hasn't been much to report that anyone would find interesting. The lemon pie is history, and I am the only one in the house that likes lemon. Enough said. Got up at 3:30 this morning. Been sleeping in a recliner out in the family room. DW is down with a terrible cough again; sounds like a coffee can full of marbles. I can't sleep in the same room and still sleep. Yesterday, I did not get up in time to do my workout, so I did it this morning. 6 miles all together. A pretty tough workout: 1 mile easy run for a warmup, then 4 miles of alternating threshold runs, and then cool down for a mile at a jog. I've been feeling wasted all morning. Took a couple tylenol. Something tells me that I am not going to be interested in any more half-marathons after April, and after I cross this off my bucket list. And I cannot see the benefit of subjecting my body to the rigors of a full marathon, once I'm done with the half. Too much stress on the hips and back. Perhaps if I've dropped about 30 pounds, but that's not looking too likely too soon.
Struggling to stay awake. To make matters worse, I had to call our IT Help Desk to get a new battery for my laptop. It's been going dead after ony about 20 minutes. As it turns out, my lapeop is due to be changed out, which means I get a new one. A pain in the butt, changing everything over, but hopefully it will be better in the long run. Back to the point: I was on hold for 30 minutes listening to the same stanza of elevator music, over and over, repeatedly. they never even change the song. I nodded off.
Getting a haircut tonight, and then tomorrow, it's our night for decorating the church for the holidays. I don't do much; not much of a decorator unless they need someone to go up on the ladder. I'll eat the soup though. :)
I hope to get to bed fairly early, but 9:00 is about the best I can hope for. Then I have to be at the Leadership Summit early for the next two days. I'll be glad to greet the weekend. It was 11F coming to work this morning; that's cold, but I know we are much more fortunate than a lot of the rest of the country, so I am making a conscious effort not to complain. Well, that's about it for today. May all my FS Buddies have a wonamous evening and a better day tomorrow. Toodles!

I hope your DairyQueen feels better soon. My mom swears by Vicks VapoRub on the soles of her feet and then she wears a pair of socks over them (probably to keep the sheets clean?)...sounds yucky to me, but she says it keeps her from coughing all night. Your determination to run is inspirational. When I get discouraged while riding my exercise bike I think about you running at crazy-hours and then my workout doesn't seem so bad. Enjoy your soup tonight!

The soup is tomorrow. I screwed up; the church decorating is tomorrow, the haircut is tonight. Thanks; got to go back in and change that.

Hope DW is feeling better. That cough sounds rough. Did she go to the dr? Good run. You might change your mind about the marathons. Of course, I don't quite get it why people would want to do marathons :)

I find it amazing that you're so dedicated to running and are willing to get up in the wee hours of the morning to do it. Pfft, I say to getting up and going out in near zero temps. A toughie to be sure.
