Not a whole lot going on here in the small quiet town of Stillmore, GA! I am back to my routine of sleep, wake up, eat, go to work, come home, work some more, eat, sleep. I try to keep life interesting, but the daily grind makes us slip into a rut no matter how hard we try. Winter has arrived on cat-like feet. Slipped in while we weren't looking. Winter is my most difficult season. Dreary, cold, gray days make me melancholy and it becomes a chore to smile. Oddly enough I am still not experiencing issues with emotional eating. It probably has something to do with having recently spent a week where it is warm and sunny. I am thinking I am going to need a Vitamin D and K supplement this winter to keep the gray at bay. I have my laundry/gym in a shambles right now from my digging out winter clothes and trying to make room for them, so I have to go outside to do my walking until I get all the long johns, sweat-suits and jackets off my treadmill. It's not easy to walk outside here, we have no sidewalks so you have to walk in the road and they have lots of curves and when cars come tearing around the curves you never know what side of the road they will be on so you have to have eyes in the back of your head and quick response time to keep from becoming a hood ornament. With all of the trees crowded up to the edge, the shade is deep and it is difficult to see people walking. I have bright orange and safety yellow vests to wear, but they drive so fast I have to prepare myself for a ditch dive because they won't have time to react before impact. Hubby is going to bring home the building materials to make additional hanging space in a few days, so I don't expect to have to keep risking my life to exercise :)

Debra, be so careful walking. The gray fall and threatening winter gets to me. SADD syndrome. Take lots f vitamin D and exercise, it does help. It has kept me off anti depressants in the winter. I still struggle but better than t was.

Flashing lights are cheap, especially if they keep someone from hitting you. Pedestrians and cyclists hit by cars are a regular occurrence here.

Okay cold weather no excuses to become a bear. Time to take an ice pick out and break away the ice from your routine and clean up that treadmill. Shake it! Dance it off. If heat is what motivates you. Find a poster of Sunny Florida and hang it on the wall. Your motivation come spring you are going to be in swim suit body mode and rocking in 2015 in a tone body. Find a red light bulb to put in your bedside lamp. This will help improve your sleep if you only have it on for 15 minutes prior to sleeping. Do you have ankle weight? You can add this to your treadmill workout and boost the the walkout effort. No need to worry you can workout indoors. SMILE AND GET GOING.

Im sorry i have to say this but when i was very young i had put a little mobile home on my dads 15 acres it happened to be directly off to the side of the barn, the barn was a place where all my dads clients would come and saddle up and so forth. They would stay out there long into the night. I worked nights and gone alot and left my light on when i left, and i had this odd obsession i had found a purple bulb and blue and finally red. So one morning my father said why was i embarrassing him? I was like i wld never do that. He said that to my utter embarrassment that a red light in your bedroom turned on at dusk meant something lol. I in my young adulthood have heard of a (red light district) but never thought it was literal, I was born and raised in country i guess you could say i lead a sheltered life! Obviously :-) So my lovely Debra you go ahead girl put a relaxing fun light in your room because I am. Great suggestion Butterfly!

I actually have an infrared heat lamp I use on my baby chickens when I have some and I have a grow light for my bedding plants that I use in early spring, I wonder if I attach them to the ceiling above my treadmill if I could get enough fake sunshine to burn away the blues :) The poster is already there, I have a pretty beach scene that stays in front of me while I walk, white sand and vivid blue ocean are always a part of my home decor. I am a tropical coast girl transplanted to a landlocked, semi-frozen area. Soooo.....since I can't be at the beach in 15 minutes, I will have to bring the beach to me! Thanks for the support you guys, the sun is not even up yet and I am smiling already!

Get a happy light (full spectrum light). They have come a long way in recent years. Almost everyone in my family has SADD and the lights help a lot.

I'd love to tell you Chris, but my mom's has been AWOL since tha party Saturday. I know she got it online. It's very slim and sits on a table top. Huge improvement over the long tubes of the old days. I'll update when it comes out of hiding.
