Such a busy week! Had a great day Thursday with the girlfriend. Went to a farm in Amish-land that grows 300 types of squash. I wanted to buy one of each! I ended up with a sweet meat, a festival, sweet dumpling, speckled hound, one too many, survivor, Yugoslavian finger, and a confetti. I can't wait to try them! The survivor and the one too many we got to carve into jack o lanterns, but I'm going to save the seeds and the cut outs to cook. It was such a nice day.

Today I've been working on Halloween decorations for my yard. I've made ghosts for my trees, and bodies in body bags. Bought some small tombstones from the dollar store and a couple of window decorations. I hope it looks as awesome as it does in my head.

I learned something interesting yesterday. I used refined coconut oil in my coffee, and I BINGED! I was starving all day. Today I went back to my unrefined and I am completely fine. There must be something in the unrefined that keeps my stomach satisfied.

Haven't gone to the doctor yet about my dizziness. It has been better. I still intend to go, I just haven't wanted to go and sit in that waiting room for an hour. Did read something the other day "One disease, long life. No disease, short life". Translation don't neglect your health. I guess the universe is telling me to get checked out by my Dr.

WOW I didn't know there were that many kinds of squash!!!! I've been buying different ones as I find them also this year. Love your ideas on decorations and idea of cooking the pieces cut out of pumpkins, never thought about doing that.

Is there a reason you put coconut oil in your coffee? some sort of health benefit? I've never heard of this before :)

Your ideas for Halloween deco sounds so ghoulish. Love it! I am sure you will trick it out :) Please get that dizziness checked, if only for piece of mind. Better than worrying about what is really going on. Sounds like you had a great week. Good for you!

I roasted pepper and butternut squash seeds the other night and they were delicious !! I boiled them first in salt water, then tossed them in olive oil with garlic and onion powder. Crunchy goodness !

spinx1971 for me it helps keep hunger pains away. I have started doing 16:8 intermittent fasting. Since I've started this I've been losing weight crazy fast. I haven't read too much about it, but it seems it does have other health benefits. I'm really enjoying learning about it.

Bella, The name of the farm is the Great Pumpkin Patch. If you go to 200acres dot com and click on the seeds part of the store you can see some of the squash they grow. They have a lot of heirlooms and squash from around the globe. It's really amazing! Chris why do you boil the seeds first? I've never tried that, what does it do? Wholefoodnut, I've never cooked the cut out parts either, but I wanted to carve the cool looking pumpkins, but I also wanted to see what they tasted like. So, I thought, cook the cut outs, duh! They are really neat looking. If you google survivor squash and one too many squash you can see what they look like. Thanks Kattay!
