Happy Wednesday!

Thanks so much to everyone who prayed for my niece, Jillian. Yesterday was a long and difficult day for the whole family. The neurosurgeon made it very clear that by waiting the extra 2 months for baby Abram to grow before taking him by cesarean, Jillian had risked her own life. We all knew she was very brave because she dealt with the difficult symptoms of the tumor for those two extra months rather than allow the doctors to take the baby early, but we didn't realize if the tumor had turned out to be malignant waiting so long left no good treatment options and she would have shortened her life expectancy to mere months by waiting so long to take care of it. Thankfully, the tumor is benign and they feel they got it all so we are all breathing a great sigh of relief and praising God for all our blessings! Jill is in a tremendous amount of pain, but every day should get better and better for her.

I have had the privilege of helping to take care of Jillian's 2 1/2 year old daughter, Elliana, and one week old (preemie) Abram. The baby is so tiny! But then I remember how small my own grandson was when he was born 3 months early at 1 1/2 pounds and I think how wonderful Abram looks! I've also enjoyed two afternoons with my mother. I was able to take food over to her house and make lunch and dinner for her. Enough to get her through until my older sister returns from her trip to Italy early next week.

I have done reasonably well sticking to my new lifestyle. I have not exercised as much as I do at home and I've probably eaten more than I would have if I'd been at home, but the things I've been eating are pretty healthy although I am having some difficulty finding the correct items to record on my food log. I'm looking forward to leaving tomorrow and heading back up north.

Please remember to cherish your loved ones!
