Kathy Vanish's Journal, 22 September 2014

I am still fighting a cold that has turned more into a cough. I am going to try to do a workout today, but will have to see if it results in a coughing fit. I am going to wait until later in the day because I usually feel better the longer I am up.

I was able to stick to my recommitment to exercise last week. I exercised 7 days straight and then took the weekend off. Mostly because of my cold, but it worked out. Today, I need to get back at it. I was going to walk/run with Otis (my lab puppy), but it is raining and the township decided to grade our dirt road and turn it into loose and muddy. So maybe and easy elliptical workout and some pilates or some zumba. I will have to see how I feel after I complete my to do list.

Had a look at your food diary, i would drop the milk, rice and sausage and milk and sugar in the coffee...try some herbal tea instead, maybe peppermint tea or chamomile, make them light if you don't like strong. Milk gives cattarh and dairy should be avoided when you have flu, especially milk. I know sausage tastes great and very addictive, don't buy or hide what you have for now, it's not helping the flu...and the rice, try and avoid grain because of irritation. That also goes for the cereal bar. you are better off with some beef broth and if you can eat the beef which comes out melting tender, no potato but carrots, marrow or zuchini, celery, some whole peppercorns for flavour. For b'fast, take fruits or even fish. You don't have to eat like a 4 year old....you can make patties for her with the beef, just process everything in food processor. If you can't take whole chunks of beef make meatballs in the broth, just put the raw beef in food processor with some parsley, pepper and salt, shape into balls and drop in the broth at boiling point. Your cold and cough will clear in no time. Get better soon!
