With a new pastor came a new direction for the UMYF – dividing the group and including a younger grade.
• Ninth – Twelfth grade students under the guidance of Pastor X Mrs. Y and help of additional volunteers within our church family.
• Sixth – Eighth grade students under the guidance of hubby and MightyFull.
These youth programs began Sunday, September 7, 2014 and had a total attendance of seventeen youth.

Earlier this year, we felt God was preparing us for a new direction, and we realized our season of ministry working with UMYF would be nearing a close. With youth ministry very dear to our hearts, we prayed for God’s wisdom for the 2014/2015 UMYF season and received our answer.

We met with Pastor X and Mrs. Y, shortly after the Youth Kickoff meetings, about upcoming plans for our Community UMYF groups. At the conclusion of this meeting, we gave Pastor X our verbal resignation --- We will be the Jr UMYF leaders until 12/31/2014. We have offered to take the youth on the Winter Retreat, as we had originally planned in February, and/or substitute/chaperone during the upcoming seasons as needed. This was not an easy decision for us.

We thank you for your support, the support of Church, and the opportunity to teach your children the love of Jesus Christ. These last four years have been an amazing blessing for us. Sincerely, Hubby and MightyFull

Letter was mailed out to parents today. Literally, I'm grieving (but not eating emotionally). Administrative council is next -- printed off a copy for the 29 members. Former Pastor -- who I have been communicating with about this-- said leaving on the high road is better.

Retail therapy -- went to Lifeway and found a small book -- imagine that, they had 12 of them -- the exact # of youth we have! When Godly People Do Ungodly things. I bought the audio version for myself -- this is a Beth Moore devotion. HOpe it helps me rejuvenate my grieving spirt.
