Rough workout today. I can run. I can bike. I can swim. I can do all of these things fairly well. But, when I attempted to combine running and biking today back to back in anticipation of the triathlon, I failed miserably. By the end of the workout I was doubled-over vomiting on the side of the road. Things I did wrong: 1.) I got a late start resulting in the second half of the workout being performed in the mid-day heat; 2. I failed to eat anything this morning before I took off; and 3.) I failed to bring along any water. So no fuel, no hydration, double tempo workout in the heat of the day. Brilliant idea. My IQ may have dropped into single-digits. I am hoping today was a fluke. An off-day, if you will. Otherwise, this triathlon is going to be a beast.

***Plan for rest of today. Homework and practice exam. Prep for work as I have a long day tomorrow. And, Zumba this evening.

Tuesday= a.m. run-thirty minutes only. Afternoon, bike (1 hour)and weight training.

Wednesday= a.m run - thirty minutes. Afternoon, Zumba.

Thursday = Go try out the new PiYo class before work (I'm looking forward to this). Bike (1 hour after work plus weight training)

Friday= Zumba or Run in a.m. Swim the cove for an hour in the evening.

Saturday=Zumba a.m. Bike-1 hour

Sunday= Long run.

************School is tough. I don't remember it being this intensive when I was a young, whipper-snapper. Ha. So tough that I've commenced googling Carribbean Medical Schools because I'm worried my GPA in the science pre-reqs will be closer to a 3.0 than a 3.5. Unfortunately I have no idea how I can transport 17 horses, 2 dogs, 2 teenagers and a husband to the island of St. Maarten. But, I guess if there is a will, there is a way, right?

Hope everyone enjoys the Labor Day. It is the one holiday of the year that I mostly spend doing a lot of unpaid labor. Off to clean house now!

Wow that's tough! Good for you to recognize what you need to do for the next time though! Good luck with the training!
