newnormal's Journal, 01 July 2014

Today went really well, stayed on task for food and even pushed my cottage cheese until I got home. Today is day 1 to workout with Sarah and Tommy at the gym (although Tommy almost doesn't count as being there, he'll be swimming lol). It's hard for me to develop new friendships by myself (I'm an introvert until you get to know me and then I don't shut up)so new day at the gym, new friend, new workout schedule, re-new food setup...lots of new this week.

End of day after work and I'm crashing hard, not sure why. Waiting for the cottage to kick in and having a cuppa coffee to give me a boost until I get moving again, then it'll be fine. Feels like my thyroid issue when I forget to take my meds but I definitely took it this am so that isn't it. My eye has been watering all day so that probably has something to do with it. it would be so easy to back out but there's no sense in it. Just get the butt out there and move, taking the rest of me with it. But I do hope the caffeine kicks in fast...

Working out with Sarah didn't pan out. They were signing up and it took too long so at 6 I let them know I'd catch them next time and I went walking on the trail. Thankfully there was a really great breeze, not too strong but there. Walked 1.8 miles in 45 minutes, which comes out to like a 25 minute mile but I WAS OUT THERE and I haven't been. So I'm proud of myself cause it would've been easier to go home and put it off. The walk there takes me back to when I was losing the 85 lbs the first time. I started slow, did what I could and beat myself up for not doing better lol. But each week, the time got shorter and I didn't come home and drop into a coma after a while. I might start building that trail walk into my week. It was really encouraging. And especially cool cause I can come back to a houseful of peace instead of the tension I used to deal with back then. Today is a good day.
