Half-day at work today. I'm taking the afternoon off to spend time with a dear friend that I haven't seen in a while. We live in separate cities and even more separate lifestyles, but we do our best to get together when we can.
It's reminded me that being healthy is more than about eating responsibly and getting exercise. Healthy is a balance of physical, social, mental, and spiritual.
So, as much as it feels 'odd' for me to take the day off from the gym, and even to treat myself to those brownies I packed for our picnic today, it's a day for nurturing the social and mental part of me today.
Remind yourself not to beat yourself up over the diet and exercise part of your life. There's more to making healthy decisions than that.
