Started weight lifting so not losing ounces was expected yet disappointing. I stuck to my diet, eating a Vegan fresh organic diet so hopefully the outcome in the end will be what I am hoping for. I hate that my life is consumed with food, dieting and exercise... UGG!
142.2 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 10.2 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 0.8 lb a week

Yes, weight lifting can temporarily bring a halt to the scale (muscles retain water to heal). But you lose fat faster, burn calories, firm up and build muscle. The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn at rest, the more easy losing and maintaining weight becomes (hence why men lose weight faster and can eat more and maintain). So keep up the exercise and get a tape measure. It's great to see inches lost when that scale isn't moving like we want it to. It will eventually move though.

Thanks Suzi I appreciate your encouragement. I have waited most of my life to be healthy enough to follow through on the weight lifting angle of exercise. I am even starting to enjoy going to the gym and exercise so it's so much better than I initially imagined.

Dont worry! Three months ago I start lifting heavy weights with my guy friends in the gym (i notice I am the only girl in the weight section) and It feels awesome You learn to love the burn and how fast you can finish your workout. I usually finish in 30min rather than running on the treadmill for an hour. I also halted in my weight loss because I have been putting on muscle, but I do notice my clothes fit a lot better. Keep lifting but try to check how you look and feel, the scale does not always do justice! I find the scale more discouraging than anything since muscle does weigh more tan fat. Keep it up!
