Kiki8123's Journal, 08 June 2014

BFF, Baldwin5, and I took a walk thru the park yesterday before the heat got too bad - we started the activity on our UP24 bands at the same time, walked together, and then stopped the timer at the same time. My band logged a 4.03 mile walk at 18.4 min/mile (8,291 steps) and hers recorded a 4.48 mile walk at 16.5 min/mile (8,775 steps). So we r off on our calibration somehow - or one of our bands is. Now I have two blisters on two of my toes and on one of my heels. Weird. Have walked plenty of times, used these shoes on the treadmill for jogging and walking. And the shoes are relatively new (but not new enough to cause blisters). Only thing I can link it to would be the socks I wore - but they were thicker ones so that doesn't seem right. So, not going to the gym today. I'll be working a lot in the backyard so hopefully that's enough of a workout. Supposed to be 104 degrees out today - ugh. Stay "cool" everyone!

The blisters could be also from the fact that you use different muscles when you walk normally and not on a treadmill that has an even surface. Stay cool!

I agree with SKwhite - when I walk on "earth" terrain it seems very different than treadmill. And I also am VERY fussy about my socks!
