Some movement, finally. It's going to be a long journey towards the goal, but I can see it. I feel very uncomfortable when people compliment me on how well I look; I suppose they will, given how much I've lost over the past year.

Yesterday, we went through the closet getting out my 4X and 3X clothing to give to Goodwill. We ended up with a carfull that Gail's going to hand over today, all of it in good condition. Some of it, clothes I either wore once or never wore.

Then I tried on a pair of 1X jeans that Gail had bought for me on spec, as it were. They fit. So I am out of the 'big and tall' shops once and for all. My own 'spec' order was for shirts half a size smaller (17" collar) and for 42" waist jeans from L.L. Bean. Since the trousers hanging in the closet range from 46 to 44 inches, 42 is a stretch. On t'other hand, I'm down another half-pound this morning after a week of staying at 242 and a half. So, by late March, perhaps, I should fit into them. Fitting into the 1X jeans came as a pleasant surprise (though as they are stretch waist jeans not too much of one).

Onward to my goal. Seventy-eight pounds away. Getting a little closer each day.
241.8 lb Lost so far: 95.2 lb.    Still to go: 73.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

I am so glad that the scale is finally moving for you. It is so frustrating sometimes, but I do have to say that you are doing so well. Only 4.8 pounds away from that century mark!! Congrats...I sure understand what you mean about people complimenting you. That happened to me at church today....it makes me blush. lol

So happy for you Fledgist that the scale is moving downward again. We will soon be celebrating your 100 pound loss too. I too know what you mean about people complimenting you. However, you have a lot to be proud of my friend. Have a blessed day!

It's always frustrating when the scale doesn't move for a few days, and exhilarating when it heads downwards day after day. Thanks for the good wishes!

Get used to the compliments -- you will be getting a great deal of them -- and deservedly so! "Thanks for noticing" is an easy response.
