Albright777's Journal, 12 February 2009

Well, today is the first day back to "normal". Our house guests left yesterday, and Jim threw out most of the sweets. They wouldn't take them home, and we wern't going to eat them. Although they looked so yummy!!!! Thank goodness Jim is stronger than I am when it comes to getting food out of the house.

Although this week has been sad and stressfull, it was great to see family and get to know them better. WOW, I never knew how much food an 18, 12, & 11 year-old boys could eat!!!! YIKES!!! Thank goodness I have a little girl. LOL. We had fun packed into our little 3-bedroom, 1 (yes 1) bathroom home, and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Last night's routine was finally back to normal. Abby had her bath on time and into her own bed around 8:00 pm. Jim went to work this morning, and Abby and I got our morning routine in full swing again. Let's hope I can get my eating back to normal again. My belly is so messed up right now. Bloated, rumbling, churning, and anything but calm. I just may do a lot of liquids today, and hit the solid foods tomorrow. Not sure yet.

Some good news....my Dad's heart is doing fine. It went back into sinus rythom all on it's own. So far, no need for a pacemaker. He is only taking 1 pill every-other day. So far, so good. Next few weeks, he will start physical therapy. That ought to be interesting.

Hope you all have a great day.

Your Pal,
Julie ;-)

Good job getting the sweets out of the house. Eating right is hard with houseguests. Glad you are on track.

It is comforting to know that you were hospitable in opening your home for your husband's family in their time of need. Some of the most meaningful family memories are made during those times when the kids sleep in sleeping bags on the floor or when nine people are sharing a bathroom. Interestingly - these family memories are made on happy days like weddings and graduations. But they are also made on sad days like funerals. I am so glad that your dad is doing better. That old cliche about raining and pouring really applies here! Oh! And your reference to teenaged boys eating a lot makes me miss my son! Sigh! Take care!
