Good Morning, FS Warriors! Is euphoric higer than ecstatic? I am doing the happy dance this morning. 243 lbs., down 2 pounds from last Friday. Eleven pounds over the past two weeks. This substantiates last week's weight loss, and considering I am on my last day of steroids, I couldn't be happier. I feel that I am off to a good start now, and I am setting my intermediate weight loss goals at 2 or 3 pounds per week. I think I can do it, considering the torture I'm putting myself through. Just kidding, it isn't all that bad. I am at a much higer weight that I was accustomed to carrying, and I know when I am at this high a weight, the pounds are a lot easier to take off. I have no intention of getting to a 6 pack, and really, I don't want one - unless it's Bud Light. I know it looks cool on a guy, and I'll probably take some flack for this, but when you let your body fat get down to 6%, and especially when you're older, that doesn't leave you much to help endure much physical trauma that could come your way. I guess I'm Old School, but I think women look better with 10 to 15% body fat, and I feel and do fine with 15% body fat. Wish I was there now!

My Scenery DVD arrived yesterday, and I played it for my treadmill walk/run routine this morning. I like it. It's not virtual reality. It probably would be close if you had a panoramic TV set about a foot from your head, but most of us don't. It is a very steady view of the path ahead of you as you walk, jog or bike down various routes. This morning, I chose the tropical path. Natives walk along the path toward you, and dogs wander here and there, a motor scooter passed me along the trail. It was very serene and cool. The camera doesn't pan back and forth. You see what you would see if your were looking down the trail you are moving on. I stayed up too late last night, reviving my IPOD Shuttle, and loading it up with music. It's a pretty good little MP3 player for hardly being bigger than a quarter. So, to make a long story short, I stayed up too late, got up to late, but still got my workout in, jamming along at a whopping 4.5 mph.

Time for melancholy rhetoric. You know, you don't have to experience much of life to realize that none of us are immune from personal tragedy, illness and disease, and some of us have hundreds of reasons not to want to get up off the couch, lose weight and get in shape. Been there, bought the T-shirt. But what separates us FS Warriors, is we've learned that, in spite of the cards we have been dealt in life, life is better when you're healthier, and regardless of whether healthy means being able to go up and down stairs without pain, or run a marathon, it doesn't happen by accident, and we determine to get er done! So, that's all I have to say about that. Toodles!

Amen DK!!! A 2 lb loss even after a Hungry Man dinner? AWESOME!!! Mom and I were talking this morning about the topic in your last paragraph. We both FEEL better when we carry less weight. I have no illusions of being a "hard-body" or losing my jiggle. I'll still jiggle even at a lighter weight but I feel so much better. Here's to taking care of us!!!

You have me considering the scenic thing - interesting. No panorama here either but I could probably enlist my tunnel vision :-) I thought about you while I was grocery shopping this morning - picking up six cases of bottled water. I don't get together w/Jillian like you but I tell ya, lifting those cases and pushing about 150lbs around in the cart certainly puts things in perspective, for me anyway :-)

11 pounds? When you do something you don't mess around do you?

Bella, I read other reviews where they complained that the scene didn't move fast enough for them. Didn't bother me any. I thought it was quite neat. I think if you zoned in on the thing so your're eyes were fixed on it unceasingly, it may be annoying. But heck, I glance away at the treadmill screen occasionally, look around to make sure I haven't been abducted by aliens or anything, and it looks perfectly natural to look back along the path, no matter what speed I'm going.

Well, Buffy, that can be a blessing and a curse at the same time. I'm great at short term achievements, and to me a short term achievement can still be six months. I've got to get better at being in it for the long haul.

You had me sold until making aware I could be abducted by aliens if distracted too long... thanks for nothing :-)

Don't mention it, Bella. Going to run the path next to the ocean in the morning. You know, you are kind of a captive audience on a treadmill; hard to look over your shoulder without wrecking yourself. But, I wouldn't worry about it; if they were going to take you, they probably would have done it back when you had more meat on your bones. :)

LOL that'd be a strong argument esp as it occurred to me we've never had a reported sighting in our town but then again the obesity rate continues to grow so logic would deem they're snatching the slimmer folks first...

It's a guise to give you a false sense of security. They're fattening everyone up for one big snatch.
