I'm feeling really defeated today. I stay well under my recommended calorie intake (not necessarily on purpose), but some days I still gain weight. I gained a pound last night, and while I did have some fast food, I still stayed under my calories. I feel like it's not the calories that matter with me, its how well the food I choose digests. Bread seems to be the worst for me. Worst of all it's my husbands birthday and he wanted to go to breakfast and dinner today, but I was so ashamed of my weight gain that I didn't want to go eat. I know there are healthy choices at restaurants but I'm not a fan on spending money on things I can eat at home lol. Just feeling all around defeated.

First google "why the scale lies" for insight in to water weight fluctuations. When you eat out, the sodium in the food can cause many people to temporarily gain water weight regardless of caloric intake. Many things can effect the scale. As far as choosing food when you go out to eat you have two choices. You can EAT what you want, or you can WEIGH what you want. Some times choose the healthy option and when you want some more decadent either split it or box up half of it right away. Many places give you enough food for two meals. It all comes down to our choices and if you want to lose weight bad enough. You will always have to watch what you eat or it will come back on (even at goal). But if you learn to to eat healthy 80% of the time and give in 20%, you can still enjoy going out to eat (just not all the time).
