I'm doing well. We got about a foot of snow here, Hartford, CT to the south forty-miles got almost two feet, their most for a snowstorm ever. The dog was somewhat startled by the amount of snow out there when she went out...

A foot of snow, WOW! Now I need to look at the forcast and see what New Hampshire got in the way of snow. Sure hope that the airplanes are clear for takeoff on the 21st and 23rd of this month. I'm going to see my son and his family.

It only takes a matter of hours to clear snow in this area. In the Berkshire Mountains to the west they got 2 1/2 feet of snow. The driving today was not good, but tomorrow it will be fine as the roads will be cleared. We get snow so often it is quickly cleared here. The dog jumps in the snow and likes it though there is a bit much of it right now...

Since I've never lived in snow country, I don't really know how much a foot is relative to anything else, but it sounds like an awful lot. I heard that some ominous conditions were coming together and making for something huge in your area. Glad to hear that you are doing well Glenn!

We get a foot-deep snowstorm usually maybe once a year, sometimes many times. It is not as ominous at it sounds - we are less than a hundred miles or so west of the ocean to the east and also to the south, so We're close enough to get more snow than most areas of the country that are not just mountains. The lake effect snows of places like Buffalo get much more than here - though the Midwest often gets much less snow than here as there is not an ocean to be affecting things like it does here. I went out in it last night - people were cautious and going slow and the main routes already had lots of clear pavement. My friend Bruce said the main freeway (or highway as New Englanders call it) was likely clear already due to heavy salting of the roads. When it is close to two-feet deep or more is when it is rough to clean up and they did get that nearby in the Berkshire Mountains up to the west of here. The kids were off from school yesterday, but will most likely most be back in school today as the roads are in OK shape. To make a long story short for New Englanders a foot of snow is a big deal, yet at the same time not unmanageable...

Hi Glenn, this post is on Thursday morning. Just wanted to stop in and see how you are doing, and it sounds like you are well. Arthritis OK? I have to say, I am really glad we don't have snow. Last time I saw snow was in 1979 ~ lol. And it was cold. I was in New York (Syracuse) for my grandmother's funeral. The ground was frozen and they apparently had a really difficult time with the burial. Then my brother & I walked around our old town and just about froze. I had to borrow clothes and fleece boots from my cousins to keep warm. It raised a lot of hell with my asthma too. Nope, cold country is not for me. I like my sunny days too much. I'll even take the hot summers, as I can go inside and cool off. Glenn, good going with the book and have a warm safe day and GET SOME SLEEP! :-)

Hi NN - I DID sleep last night. I prefer the summer weather too, but if I move soon then next year I'll be at a hill where I can go sledding. There is lots of negativity in the large building where I live now, yesterday someone put a big mark of gang graffiti on the elevator, so gangs are coming in here - nothing new, kids etc. I am more than ready to move and will hop on the chance to do it right away. I've been through Syracuse, NY a few times on the bus going west and coming east. The arthritis is manageable with pain meds. Thanks for checking in. I hope to get on journals today and do a weigh-in too.

Hi babs - I just noticed your post - you all got buried by the storm it looks like. We do get more snow in New England than most areas besides near Buffalo, or mountain areas elsewhere... The snow is as high as the dog is tall so she won't jump in it!
