Well isn't that how it goes... I lost 2 ounces... I would be upset if I thought that somehow I screwed up but I know I worked my eating plan the same way I have been doing. There isn't anything to adjust except maybe adding more calories so my body doesn't think I am starving it to death. I hate plateaus! I would think that eating a 1000 calories a day most days and never exceeding 1200 calories in a day would be ideal, apparently not... I wish I knew how to trick my body into doing what I want it to... I guess I will just keep eating my high nutrient diet with loads of fresh veggies and some fruit, beans, nuts and seeds...

Technically your diet is TOO low in calories and your body may be going into starvation mode. Women really shouldn't take in less than 1200 calories a day unless being guided to do so by a doctor. Meanwhile, sometimes you need an indulgence day or two to help shock your metabolism. Not all the time, just every couple weeks or so add in a couple hundred extra calories. It doesn't need to be major, just different from your usual.

Hi Mama, I am consuming 100% of my RDI so I don't think putting a number on calories is ideal. I eat 50+ grams of plant and bean rich protein everyday and my carbs and fat are also where they should be. I think that it is because I had been on a detox the last time I weighed so my body is adjusting to taking in whole foods. I'm sure my body will figure it out... I appreciate your insight, thank you...

I have a friend who lost 70 pounds, and she SWEARS that you cannot go below 1200 calories a day. States that is the magic number. She is a nurse and kept track of all exercise, weight, and calories on a daily basis, and she had the numbers to prove it.

Hi Beth, After thinking about your input I think I am going to stick to what I had told Mama a few posts up... I eat a nutrient rich diet and think I need to maybe add more beans to more effectively burn my calories. If I ate any dead calories I would agree that eating a set amount of them may be important but I don't eat any junk food and every one of my calories is utilized by my body for energy. I am happy your friend has had such great success. I think now that I am down 107 pounds it's safe to say I may have a slow week on the scales but there is always next week...
