MightyFull's Journal, 21 January 2014

This morning I was up. .4 up. I drank the 100fl oz of water...absolutely could not force any more upon myself (was supposed to have 120floz). Went to bed actually earlier - which was awesome. Slept hard - which was awesome. Did not have to get up but one time to go to the restroom. Thus resolving I'm retaining water. My ankles were fatter yesterday too - thus water retention. Did not have shake as planned. Hubby went to Subway and got my absolute favorite sub - sweet onion chicken teriyaki. Had clementines instead of chips. Water instead of soda. Forgot how yummy that sub is....AND I had the calories for it! :) I reset my goals just as of yesterday - 1800 calories max. Seriously. Also pulled some old Lent give-ups from 2012 (when I lost working out to P90x and was dedicated to it and not going over 1800 calories for 6 months straight).

Been doing Turbo Fire now going on 3 weeks. Tomorrow is the last day of 3rd week. I expected the weight to just fall off by now. Or at least see a semblance of a waistline. Yet, I feel HUGE today. There is really no waist line as of yet. So frustrating. Fortunately, during TF Low HIIT 20 today I actually was part of the group versus yesterday stumbling around looking lost! The cross trainer shoes are much better for TF than my Hoka's. I've signed up for 2 walk/runs -- both 5k's- starting 3/1 - and I'm starting to train for that this evening on the elliptical for 20 minutes. I think I will be much easier to live with to do those on the days I have a shorter TF workout than not.

On my diet journal, I'm on week 13. And I can assure you, I'm not any sort of pleased with my current results. So I'm having to stop doing things half way. I do not want to burn myself out - and I am halting looking into different workouts and vitamin programs to find fast results.... There really are no fast results if I don't put in the time.

I've stopped doing the Advocare vitamins - I had heartburn and indigestion really bad in the afternoons. I was told to drink more water. There is no reason I should burp like a sailor during the entire afternoon where I felt like I should drink ginger ale to burp the rest of it out. Just felt weird. A weird I didn't like. I will still be doing the Thermo+, Catalyst, OmegaPX and Carb-ease until they run out. The Thermo+ I took prior to starting this challenge. Will also keep Spark in the house, as hubby loves it. Hubby is now doing my remaining MNS - C vitamins - he likes the extra energy and appetite control it offers him.

I've thought about the Beachbody Reset maybe next quarter. Anyone know anything about it?

Increasing your protein intake while also continuing to drink water as you have been will help rid yourself of the water retention. Also, if you can reduce the carb intake you will see faster results too. I love Subway, but the bread will really slow things down. Just keep focused and determined. You will get there.

Hi MightyFull, I understand how depressing it gets when you don't get the results that you've always gotten before. I've run all my life, and it always seems like I was further ahead on week 3 last year than I am now. My friend just told me to stop looking at your past, stop looking at where you want to be, and do everything you can today (everyday) until you get there. It's a cumulative effort. Does that help?

What is turbo fire?

it is a workout from www.beachbody.com. Unless you're in decent shape, I would recommend starting with Turbo Jam, also found on that site. :)
