Oh man.. fell off the wagon SO hard.. now it feels impossible to get back on. I'm trying.. but.. for some reason my will power is shaky. My husband is trying so hard to help, but when he says "You shouldn't eat that, that's bad for you" it makes me mad at him, because i don't tell him what he should or shouldn't eat.. but.. he's just trying to help.

I completely understand your feelings. WOEs, weight, food, etc. are all very sensitive topics, even in the best of times. It's not impossible to get back on plan, but I think you owe it to yourself to evaluate where you are, how you got off plan, and how you want to go forward. Once you take an honest evaluation, I think the commitment to staying on this, or any other, WOE will return to you. You've lost an impressive 46 pounds in a mere 3 months. That's a great accomplishment and you have every right to be proud of that.

Since he really is trying to help you out, what words do work for you and are not possibly hurtful? Let him know what they are. Maybe when he says your words, in a kind way, you will know he is there for you. It could even be a silly sound he could make. I remember a friend I had as a teenager, when she was talking on the phone to her dad, she always made a sound that to us just sounded silly. I learned years later that to him it meant 'I love you'. ~tig

It's not at all uncommon what you are feeling. After re-introducing higher carbs back into your diet, your body is going thru major changes on the inside. Hormones are being produced and released that are constantly sending signals to the brain to WANT more of certain types of foods...it all becomes a crazy rollercoaster ride...and you just want to get off! My best Atkins advice to you...is to drink your water - faithfully, and eat a clean induction type foods list for the next 3-5 days. One day at a time...just get thru this process and get rid of the cravings and the metabolic craziness! Once you've regained control...then you can see more clearly your way back to your WOE and your goals. YOU CAN DO THIS! And great job in bringing your issues here...and looking for help...stay connected every day...track your food for the next couple of days...faithfully...it will help!!! A LOT!

Personally I am not a fan of going on diets. The Atkins plan can get you to lose weight, sure. But is it a sustainable and reasonable way of living? Don't look on losing weight as going on a diet that you can get off of when you get to where you want to be. You should change your lifestyle (eating and exercise) to something that is conducive to a healthier you without being on a "diet." Do you want to live the rest of your life on the Atkins plan? Is this the way you want to eat? If not, you should re-examine where you are and plan how to get to a better lifestyle. Any diet that forces you to not eat something isn't sustainable in my opinion. Denying yourself and your body all carbohydrates just isn't healthy. Eventually you will eat carbs and then what? You've not trained yourself on how to live and you put weight back on. That's why so many people yo-yo with their weight. You don't need a special diet to lose weight, you need a change in your way of life, living, and looking at what you eat. Feel free to look at my diet plan. I am denied nothing, I just have to control my eating.

Of course it is. If you would like to know more about how this way of eating continues through it's phases, go to the Atkins website. ~tig

Omg tig, I love the Silly Sound idea. Snarebear just make sure it's not something that will wear on you over time. It has to be something that you may look @ him & roll your eyes but then turn your head & give a little smile to yourself :) You can so do this! & as soon as you do just remember how hard it is to get back once you wonder off & this will also help you to not stray. Give it a 1, 2, 3 GO! You're Awesome Girl.
