performance: losing 2.0 lb a week
I've been overweight (or to be clinically correct, obese) for 20+ years, slowly gaining. Scroll down to the middle of this page to see some before and during pictures. I have many more before and present pictures out on my personal site also.
I have lost 80 pounds on Atkins, reached my goal then went off completely rather than doing the levels to add carbs back into my diet. In fact, what I did add back in was everything under the sun made out of sugar, milk or flour. I tried low fat high energy for the past month and gained an extra 15 pounds from there and stand at 200 again.
I don't lose pounds, I lose body fat percentage. I set my Fat Secret pounds goals to what I believe would match the fat % goals.
As a kid, my mom used to give me a cookie for doing or being good. I have kept up that type of reward until I started this WLJ journey. It wasn't until just not many pounds ago, I've learned that the real reward has come since I don't put the cookie in my mouth. Postscript, mom, not aimed toward you, it was an analogy and I love you very much!
Update: 05/08/2015. I reached my goal weight of 20% body fat and went off Atkins cold turkey (no pun intended). I have returned to FS at three pounds less then when I started five years ago. I know what it is like to be fat and I know what it is like to be healthy. I will be healthy again soon.
