I'm back!!
I really did not want to record this weight, but I need to be honest about what the damage was from 6 weeks of doing NOTHING after my surgery.
So...update on life:
I had my hysterectomy on October 11 and it was rough!! There was a LOT of scar tissue that had to be removed in addition to the organs they normally remove (I got to keep my ovaries but that's it) and I had to be put on an anti-inflammatory after surgery due to all the inflammation. Also, I had an allergic reaction to the anti-nausea patch during surgery and woke up with a horrible, itchy rash covering my body. This did not make the pain feel any better!! :( I spent two nights in the hospital before coming home with strict orders to not do anything except walking (which hurt). She said I probably got the scar tissue because I didn't follow instructions after my c-section, so, unless I wanted surgery again to remove more scar tissue-infested stuff, I better listen. I promise, I did!
But anyway, I am now 8 weeks post-surgery and still having trouble getting my energy back. I have been back at work for a couple weeks, but it doesn't seem to be getting much easier. I get through the work day, and by the time I get home, I just want to fall into bed. But I'm trying. I push myself to do stuff even when I don't feel like it, or I'll never get back to where I was.
Finally made it to the gym this morning...got there late, so wasn't able to do much, but I was there! And I will be back tomorrow...at 6 am!! Are you reading this, Sis??? We will be there on time! lol
Trying to get back to my good eating. Need to start logging my food again--and give up the pop and sweets again. I went grocery shopping last night and bought lots of tasty, healthy food. One of favorite phrases is "If you keep good food in the fridge, you will eat good food!" I am trying to once again put that into practice. I also want to strive for one low-carb meal a day. I've tried to strictly low-carb, but I just can't do it. I'm too weak, and when I give in, I end up binging. So, it's better to just limit rather than cut it out completely.
So this is my plan of attack: 1. Cut out pop and sweets 2. Have one low-carb meal per day, other 2 meals calorie-conscious 3. Make it to gym (on time) at least 3 days a week 4. Do Yoga/exercises at home on days I don't go to gym 5. Log food intake and track steps every day
I think that's it for now. I've sure missed everybody. I've been reading everyone's journals. Bella--my prayers are with you daily. Jess and Lindsey--not too much longer til baby time, so exciting! IamaChristianJesusfreak (do you have a nickname? lol) Congrats on pregnancy!! Keld--hope your recovery goes smoothly. All the rest of my buddies, keep working! You're doing great!! :)

My name is Diana. I feel the same way about just making healthier choices instead of being perfect. It is way easier too. I am sorry you are still feeling poopy but maybe the exercise will help. Glad you are otherwise doing well. Can't wait to visit more!

You have a great plan!! I hope you're feeling back to 100% soon. With the positive attitude the scale will be moving in the right direction soon enough. :)

Welcome back! You will probably get to feeling more energetic with the improved diet. Don't over do it on the exercise- you are only 8 weeks out. Love your plan of attack! Kimberly
