Annabelle3117's Journal, 01 December 2013

Finally had a GOOD day! Good on the intake and good on the exercise. I'm not going to lie, even after my journal yesterday there was a moment of 'screw it, Im not going to the gym I have too much other things to do today'. Surprisingly enough it was my husband who gave me the push to go. I always feel better after a good workout. Mentally, I'm more positive, happier, and probably a lot better to be around lol. Endorphins I guess, exercise is my antidepressant.

I forgot to tell everyone that while having dinner with my sister in law last weekend she actually commented on how great I'm looking and asked me what I was doing. I was in SHOCK. A compliment... holy sheep shit. Then on Thanksgiving my aunt was practically drowning me in compliments. It was a great feeling, but it wasn't enough to pull me out of the rut I was in. I kept thinking, sure I look good but I'm just blowing it so what difference does it make. Why am I never happy? Depression can be a real son of a snitch. Better since the workout though, looking forward to going again today.

Sooo, my mom is making her Turkey today, so now I have to make all those hard decisions AGAIN. I'm not eating any sweets, so I believe I will be okay. I am making sweet potato casserole, which gives me the opportunity to control the calorie content and know the portion size that I want. I'll look up a ball park range for stuffing, because I'm not skipping my favorite part. Most importantly though, I'm planning ahead for this meal. My secret to success.

I hope everyone else is feeling better and more optimistic as we all hop back on to our virtual horses and ride off to the battle of the bulge. lol Sounds romantic in a way.

Glad to hear you are having a GOOD day! It's just a speed bump along OUR long journey towards a healthier "me"... Hurry back "on your horse"... we NEED a good LEADER & motivator! BTW, i'm terrified of riding horses, but it did sound romantic riding off with you to "battle our bulge"... just saying... just throwing it out there... LOL

Hello Yolo... Cool that people are noticing. It will further encourage you in your journey. Stuffing/filling. It's a killer carb wise. As is the cranberry sauce. Can't forget the pies. All of those goodies are what threw me into overdrive with my carbs. Enjoy your time today. And smile. It makes people crazy.

Feels good getting the compliments, huh? Have had a few myself being on my weekend adventure here in the Great White North. And remember, turkey is a great source of protein. :)

So glad it's a good day. I expect many more will follow. When you think about it - getting past this holiday is a great thing. You did not do too much damage and are back riding that horse. That IS the battle I think :). Many more compliments to come my friend. Get used to it :)

lol desperate, no worries! I have already been to the gtm and I have my portions clearly set out for myself. Should be easy peesy, ill save the world yet! I'm not having any cranberry sauce or desserts so I'm confident ill be okay :-) doing it right this time to prove to myself that I can. I'm so lucky to have such a wonderful support system. I think you're right alex, getting back on it definitely is the battle. Honored to be called a leader and motivator mike, I have never ridden a horse either. We wouldn't make it far lol

Hubby told me that the goal for me for the next month or so is to come out of it the same weight as I went in. That is my goal. So the last two pounds I have gained I will work on that. I am living for when I may get those compliments. So far they have been few and far between.
