Annabelle3117's Journal, 14 November 2013

Good morning all! I weighed in at 216.8 this morning, so if I can lose that .8 by tomorrow a.m. I will have managed a 25pound loss during the ten week challenge. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.

Needless to say I will be eating light today, very light in weight and low carb. Lots of fiber and I think I'll even take a trip to the pool and get some laps in. That should burn mega calories without straining my muscles and swelling them up. I think I have a good plan, feeling confident. My friend Judy is going to see about getting a sitter so she can accompany me to the biggest loser party next Friday, where the winner will be announced. I do not want to go alone lol. Might get a bottle of my favorite wine this weekend to celebrate my awesomeness (lmao) I gave up the wine for the challenge, it has been dearly missed.

I always have a million things I want to say, then when I get the opportunity to journal my kids are running around like psychos and I can't think straight. I might be back for a part two lol.

Have a great day everyone!

Wow.. I am speechless. 25 Lbs in 10 weeks!!!!!!! That's what I call will power and discipline. At this rate, come Christmas, you will be shopping at the "petite" size section. Great job...You are an inspiration!!

Good for you Yolanda... I have 2 'hints' for the .8 pounds.... One - drink well steeped green tea. It seems to be a diuretic. Two - on the Biggest Loser they fined Jillian for giving her folks a caffein tablet. I am not sure what it did but she said that in her opinion it was better than drinking copious amounts of coffee and I am thinking that it might be something to try if you are stressed over the weigh in. Just a thought. A weekend of no stress, relaxation, wine and basking in the glory of success sounds like a wonderful thing. Let me know how it turns out :)

.8 pound, huh - I don't know, maybe cut your fingernails? Trim your split ends? That might be good for .1 or so............... :) ~~~ Great job, so happy for your success! and p.s. - Green Tea is a wonder food, I've been drink about 3 cups a day now for a few months and it definitely affects your metabolism.

Thanks for the tips Alex! I drink lots of coffee in the morning, and I plan on weighing in before and after coffee (and many bathroom trips lol) and using the weight that is lower. I didn't hear about jillian being fined, I'll have to google that. I'm a BL fan myself, but this season seems to be lacking in my opinion. For having trainers, nutritionists, and nothing better to do than work out 24-7 they really seem to be failing epically. I can pull the numbers they're getting at home, while working and maintaining the house/kids. lol Anywho, I will most definitely be letting everyone know how the weigh in goes tomorrow, and I only pray the weekend will be as relaxing and stress free as I plan :-) Thank you desperate, but it's not always willpower and discipline. I have had many a slip ups and bad weigh ins during the last couple months, but the key to success for me has always been consistency. As long as you keep moving forward you get there, right? I appreciate your support!

lol Wayne!! I've been growing my hair out for locks of love, it's like down to my bottom. Maybe I should just cut it tonight ;-)

Wow, congrats!! As for the .8 pounds, I'll second (third, actually!) the green tea idea. I also drink 3 cups a day and I've noticed that it helps a lot.

Thank you!! Apparently I'm the only person who isn't drinking green tea, I will most certainly give it a try! Any brand suggestions, and do you guys just drink it straight... all bitter and stuff? lol

Ok, being the OCD/Anal Retentive type that I am, I always do mega-research on stuff. :) ~~ 1) Even if you're not an organic person, tea is one of the foods that you should definitely spring the extra $$ for organic. 2) Loose tea leaves give the most bang for the buck (I'm not there yet, I'm still using tea bags). 3) Make sure the tea is well-steeped- get all those awesome antioxidants. 4) I add honey to my green tea- be sure to use raw honey, not the commercial honey in the cute teddy bear containers. Or I'll use a few squeezes of a fresh lemon sometimes. 5) Packaged cold tea drinks won't give the same impact as hot tea- basically sugar water. 6) Don't let anyone talk you into taking green tea pills/supplements. Evidence is very sketchy whether they are even effective, and some studies have actually shown them to be harmful.

Personally, I drink Bigelow because green tea is the only ingredient. Sometimes brands will put additives or artificial flavors in their tea, which I hate. And yup, I drink it straight, all bitter and stuff. Haha. You get used to it, but you can squeeze some lemon into it too.

I don't have any extra $$ Wayne, you know I haven't done any real Christmas shopping yet lol. I'm not like you, Mr. donewithxmasshoppingbyjanfirst lol I will look into it though, thank you for your well educated tips! :-) You know I appreciate it. I will try to be a man and drink it straight pepper, we shall see how it goes :-)

Lol - honestly, organic tea is one food that isn't that much more expensive than non-organic. I'm finishing a box of Tadin Lifestyle Awareness Organic Green Tea, which I got from Walmart- I think $2.99 for 20 or something like that. I just picked up a 100 pack of organic tea from Marshall's for $5.99.

2.99, that's right in my price range lol. I don't have a mashalls nearby, but I'll definitely keep my eye out at wally world (my grandmas term for walmart... I'm already like 75 years old)

I drink the decaffeinated green tea. I'm on a caffeine restriction. I have a little annoying disorder called SVT. It usually acts up with too much caffeine. I usually drink my tea with honey or I use my stevia to sweeten it. I have a little congestion right now, so I add a drop or two of peppermint extract. Like wayne said, make sure you steep it well!!

Good luck on your weigh in Yo!

I think I told you guys about my green tea purchase... ended up they were big flowers that you use in a crystal tea pot. Really pretty but not very practical. I am a strange one I guess - I add some heavy cream to my tea. I love to add some splenda too but given that i am still staying away from the sweetners for the most part - I don't add it. I don't find it to be that bitter.... maybe I am doing something wrong.

I remember the flower :-) you are not strange... you're adventurous lol. I will see what I can get in to and let you guys know. Green tea, in my experience, is generally bitter but hey... it's for the cause!!

I tried green tea once and only once. It was just a sip and I thought I would throw up. No green tea for me no way no how! I will stick to my plain water. Good Luck on the weigh in tomorrow!
