tbruns's Journal, 24 November 2010

The day before Thanksgiving...I'm home with a sick child and almost hoping that I get what she has so I don't have to make choices tomorrow. At the same time, I don't want to miss out on being with family.

One of my sisters is bringing a fruit tray, and I am bringing a veggie tray...my mom and I opted out of making appetizers and additional high-calorie besides the traditional apple, pumpkin, and pecan pies. I am going to plan my day to include 1 slice of pumpkin pie with cool whip, snack on veggies to fill me up, and pray I am not tempted to have more than I need.

I pray that everyone's Thanksgiving will be filled with blessings, fellowship, laughter, and fun...not food!

I read a glimpse of your journal entry, very inspiring! Wishing you the best of luck! I am secretly hoping I get sick too... it's very hard to make smart choices when you are enjoying being with your family.

It is especially hard to make smart choice when everyone else is eating whatever they want, and encouraging you to eat more...but we can do it!

I ate what I wanted and only took small portions - filled up on water and I was able to convince my family I was stuffed! I find though that I also have a hard time when the choices are in the dozens and all are high calorie.
