I made the mistake of eating brunch with my friends. It's been downhill since then. Our Internet modem crashed, so bad food choices and not being able to Input food was a BIG PROBLEM. I am not sure how to get back on track or even if I want to try. So many restrictions and small portions made me feel hungry. I don't want to live my life having to eat small portions and carry snacks around all the time. Aaaaaaaaargh. Mental and physical anguish. I feel lost and out of control. I'm not even sure I want to journal anymore. Sad but true.


Stop! Reset! Do this, only buy and eat one ingredient foods. Don't give up. You're never out of control. That's just an illusion. You make choices everyday. Food choices are no different than any other choice. Use your journal as a "calorie wallet". Just like your money wallet, when your calorie wallet is empty, you are done eating. Finally, there's no such thing as small portions, another illusion brought ion by the constant bombardment of ads and portion sizes at restaurants. There's the right portion then there is everything else. Food is simply fuel. Eat to live not live to eat. You wouldn't keep running the gas pump if fuel was spilling out of your gas tank so this is no different. Good luck.

Its ok!!! You need to reevaluate your situation. I have never restricted myself on what I eat. That is just not an option. I eat what ever I want. I have limited my carbs, but if I want a sandwich, I eat it!! Learn to recognize your hunger signals. If you think you're hungry, wait 15 to 20 minutes. If it is still there, drink a glass of water and wait 15 to 20 minutes. If its still there, and your stomach is giving you audible growls, then you are hungry. Sometimes we think we are hungry and we are really just thirsty! Or it is all in your head. That is a big part of losing weight. You have to want to. Don't give up!!! You have to find out what you really want.

Thanks! What I really want is to eat with my family and not feel like a little kid in time out! However, my husband thinks it's ok to eat junk and has taught the kids the same mindset. They are all slim. I am not. I fight it. I am just feeling overwhelmed and down. Here's to hoping this too shall pass! Thanks again!

I'm right there with pumakitten. I don't restrict what I eat. If I want ice cream, I have ice cream. It's a rare treat for myself and not something I do everyday. I just make sure that everything I eat fits into my calorie limit. Most days it works and some days I go over. If you do go over, know that it's ok. You can try again tomorrow.
