My diabetes is getting out of control. Starting today I am going on a low carb diet. I don't have any set carb number yet. Any suggestions for anything that can help me lose weight and get my diabetes under control would be very appreciated.

My blood sugar was getting out of control as well. I'm only pre diabetic but decided to do something now before it gets worse. On this diet, I rarely see my glucose level about 110, even after eating.

I think you need to reduce the amount of fruits and sweets you eat, as well as bread, rice and similar stuff. You need to eat more cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, greens and other vegetables with meat, poultry, fish, it will also help you to lose weight easily! I am also on a low carb diet, but sometimes I add carbs to keep my metabolism up, because I don't have diabetes.

It will take your body about a week or so to adjust to a very low carb, moderate protein, high fat diet. But, once you get over the hump, you'll never want to go back. It truly is a way to eat for life. And, the benefits to health are incredible.
