Other then a small cookie, that I even split with a friend, today is going well. BUT... as I was sitting at a restaurant, about to order a salad, it occured to me that I will have to eat this way for the rest of my life because I will never be one of THOSE people who eate what they want. *sigh*

i'm so glad i'm not the only one with those moments! it seems i've had them off and on my whole life. and trying to fight against that reality is part of the reason i'm where i am today. but girlfriend we will look so good when it's all said and done! we will be the ones others are looking at.

You don't always have to eat salad for the rest of your life. It is ok to every now and then have something that is "cheat" worthy. Don't get yourself in the mindset that you are missing out on anything, it's only going to make you want it more. Look at you losing 8 lbs already! WTG!

You sound like me in this journal...lately I've been nervous about what's going to happen after I finish losing the weight that I want to. I keep wondering if I'm ever going to be able to eat the foods that I like again and still maintain my weight...and I believe that yes, we will have to stay on top of what we eat and always be cautious of what we put in our bodies, but with good portion control, we should be able to eat the foods we love without gaining the weight back...but portion control is a huge problem for me. I never eat anything in balance... =(

I have the same problems as well. But if you really think it through (which is where I fall short), if you keep up the exercise programs (even when not dieting) you should be able to splurge far more often. When I fall off a diet, I fall all the way off and usually quit exercising as well. Hopefully that will never happen again to any of us.
