Doing OK. I'm CRAVING carbs this week - don't know why. Hope my weight doesn't plateau, but anyway I'm on to ask where I should be for maintenance? How many carbs should I try for the monthly challenge? I think perhaps maintenance may be an idea as I'm only 7 pounds from my goal weight and I don't want to start cheating and gain... thanks everyone in advance... Glenn

7lbs to go!!! That's awesome! Personally, I reread that section of the book constantly - just to dream about being there!! ha! That's where I'd start. The nice thing about the challenge is that you can change your amounts each week if you need to. And slowly raising your carb consumption is what maintenance is all about. How fun to start experimenting!!! I'm so jeolous!

Definitely re-read the chapters on pre-maintenance and maintenance. Slowly increase carbs (by about 5 nc to your daily amount every week.) You will even out at a CLM or "Carbohydrate Level for Maintenance". I can only dream to be there now. Paige is right, that is why in the challenge I let people choose their carb level every week, so they could tweak OWL and pre-maintenance phases. Good luck! You can do it!

Thanks for the advice. My Atkins book is somewhere in my apartment in my bedroom bookcase or closet full of books. If I can do it - lose the weight - anyone can. It takes willpower. Remember you're all doing it for health reasons too. Thanks for the advice!!!
