I won't eat peanut butter again. Not for a long time. It is too high in calories. As with anything, one must learn what is worth eating and what is not. I ate around 2000 calories today, which is enough but I still can't comprehend how anyone eating under 3000 calories a day is getting enough nutrition. It is just not possible to get all the needed vitamins in. I 'feel' lighter so I know I am on the right path. My allergies are still in full gear so I am avoiding going out too much now. I should get a short walk in tomorrow at least as I have to go out. Popcorn should only be eaten at 100 calories a bag, it still fills you up just as much as a big bag with 3 times the calories.

Yeah, I'm trying to up the protein, too. I can't eat peanut butter because of the fat, which I'm trying to dial down. I've been using nutritional yeast flakes. Fulla B vitamins, negligible fat and I use it for topping on veg. Baked its kinda like Parmesan, but zip calories. I can eat the heck outta 'em and raise the protein count. I am a pure experimentalist in the kitchen. What works - I try to duplicate, what doesn't - there's always tomorrow. Headin to the gym wading pool now, gotta beat the 'Belles of Heaven Wading Club' (what I call 'em) to the pool. It's 50% wading, 50% gossip for them. At least I know when I lap them three times its time to get out.

Thanks for the tip, Mike. I will try to find it - do you get it at a health food store? I take C, extra D, extra B complex, extra B 12, two multivitamins a day, lots of salmon oil too. I have not been to the pool in a month, my allergies have been bad for two weeks, now just a slight cough left. The protein is good but yeah, Darlene and Yerdua, it is just too many calories for 3 tbsps. Have a good day everyone.

Glenn, are you close to a Whole Foods Market or a Sprouts? Im sure they have it. Here's a tip, get the KAL brands, its a round box. Comes in Flakes or powder. Three ROUNDED not flat Tbs= 60 cal. (dang!) Flakes can substitute for cheese. Goes great on popcorn. B vitamins?: Folate and B1 are 100%, the others are 50% or so, big on iron, 3 tbs is the dose but you'll eat more. If you like mushrooms: I make cups in muffin tins with the stuff (moisten it so it sticks, and no I don't know how much water, I just do it til it sticks to the sides and you can make it as think as ya want) Fill the 'cups' with chopped 'shrooms, put the whole thing in the oven at ~ 300 for 5-8 minutes (YMMV). Enough to sweat the 'shrooms and make 'em soft, (taste one if ya want). When they're soft and cooked enough, sprinkle some more flakes on top and eat 'em up. You can gobble these babies down and there are few carbs, minimal fat and way tasty. Works with other veggies. Sometimes a little veg spray helps 'em outta the pan. Again, this ain't cookin' w/ Mike. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. The yeast flakes, though, pretty tasty on all kinds of stuff. Mac N Cheese (no cheese, flakes, dude, flakes).

OK,thanks - I don't drive and a Whole Foods is a ways away. There is one 25 miles away, but my friend won't drive up there. I will see if there's one in Springfield nearby. Thanks for the tip, when I do get there I will buy the flakes or powder.

I can't live with out my Peanutbutter...thats my breakfast on one slice of toast...but I found some that has no additives..Smuckers and you have to stir it up and put it in the frig...I don't use as much as it calls for a serving so I can get by with it...Good luck in finding what you need...:O)

Glen, I saw your note about sour cream. I use yogurt. I dump a container into a strainer with a coffee filter. Let it sit over a bowel in the fridge over night to drain the whey. In the morning you have minimal fat stuff you can use like sour cream. Since I make my own yogurt, I always have some around for the taters loving bunch. They eat it like it was the real stuff.

Thanks Bren and Mike. I will try to get some organic yogurt. As far as the PB goes, I will pass on it until I lose at least twenty or more pounds. It just has too many calories, natural or not. I am avoiding olive oil too, which I like very much but it too has too many calories.
