had another set back...refuse to put that weight on my weigh in. I am hoping that it is all water weight from that TOM. I also did not drink enough when I was off work this weekend. While at my desk at work it is easy to keep a water bottle at my side and suck it down without much problem. When not at work I have to remember to go get something to drink or keep something with me. That is hard and this weekend I failed at it. So mad at myself...

Don't be too hard on yourself. We all have setbacks and the key to it is recognizing what happened and make plans to counter it the next time you see it coming. I too can do better at work with my water at my desks. When I at home or babysitting the grandkids I lose track of my water bottle and do horribly. We'll make it though, keep trying!

It is just so frustrating because I had been doing so well. I wanted it to continue like that for weeks and weeks. I think I will number water bottles for the weekend days and then make sure that I drink them. I am starting a new challenge that asks you to drink half your weight in water ounces. Right now that would be almost 140 ounces a day for me. Right now I have been trying to drink 5 20 ounce bottles. That is 100 ounces a day. I am not sure that I can add that extra 40 ounces. I am on my 4th bottle today already though and I still have about 2 1/2 hours to work. Then there is the bottle of water right before bed when I take my blood pressure pill. That leaves a bottle for with supper and one more sometime in there to get to the 7 bottles. Uffda that is a lot of water! I feel like I am sloshing already today when I walk with half that water in me. I don't think that they were considering those of us that weight that much when they made this mini challenge! It may be doable when you weigh 120 lbs to drink 60 oz in one day. I am not so sure when you are at my weight.

If I were you I'd just do the best I could. I understand what you are saying and I need to do the same thing with water. I'm not as good at it as I used to be. For me that would be 90 ounces, which seems doable if I could only remember to keep at it. Keeping pushing the water and you'll get back on track with a dive on your weight history. We can do this!

I am working on water bottle number 5 now. That will be 100 oz when I complete that. Don't know if there will be supper...because I feel bloated and yucky at the moment. I have a non supporting son that moved home from college in the house now. The college age daughter was home for the weekend and she was super supportive. However, not sure how to take that she talked my youngest through cpr training because she is convinced I am going to have a heart attack if I exercise. I think I will work on losing more weight before I try exercising of any amount other than walking for a while. That should help with not having a heart attack. I tried jogging for a short while the other evening...yeah that is not going to happen for a while either.

Walking is GREAT exercise! I would keep up with that as much as you can without feeling any pain. When I started walking last fall. I would kind of be afraid to get too far from the house. I had to take it in baby steps. I would walk across the levee, then the next time go a little further and walk to the boat ramp, then the next time pick out a house further down the road, etc. Eventually, I got to a couple miles out and another couple miles back. Don't trying running until you are more comfortable. I was just under 200 when I first started running I think. I will have to go back and look at my weight history.

I usually walk about 1 mile when I go...It takes me about 15 minutes to walk that. Sometimes I go about double that...depends on the day and who is with me. I prefer to not walk alone at this time, just in case something happens. I think I should be closer to the 200 also before I start running, just doesn't seem safe otherwise.

My hubs would walk with me very rarely but when he did a few times we would go about a mile, which is to the boat dock. Once he said he hurt in his chest and we slowed down. He was okay but scared me. He is walking a 5K (about 3.1 miles) not this weekend but next in Chattanooga. I'm just going to make sure he goes slow enough to not over exert himself. As much as we go, I wouldn't think walking would bother him. I mean we could spend hours in Memphis walking at the zoo or the mall. I took him out to get good walking shoes but he has done nothing to prepare for this 5K walk. :( I'm sure he'll be okay as long as the heat is not bad. It always makes it nicer when you have someone to walk with. My neighbor would go with me and talk my ears off! I let her do most of the talking on the uphills! LOL

Why is he doing this walk without preparing for it? Maybe you should walk with him in the evenings to get him ready for this. Like you say...it is walking with a purpose like shopping but to reach a goal. I think it is a mind set thing. Maybe taking him to the mall with a pedometer to keep track when you have gone 3 miles. Then you will know that he can handle that much walking without a problem. I used to work in the largest furniture store in Minnesota. It went on and on forever. With my weight it about killed my feet walking that place...but the upside...I can walk just about anywhere without much problem. I just need to pace myself. That and have good shoes! :) Wearing dress shoes doing that job did not help.

If you're struggling to drink the right amount of water, try having some of it as decaff tea or just fool yourself with a mug of hot water.

Thanks for the advice startrekker. I have added one of my waters a day having the crystal light strawberry energy additive in it to change things up a bit. I have never been a coffee drinker and I tried green tea...but yuck! I used to be addicted to Mountain Dew so I think drinking pretty much only water is a step in the right direction. I used to suck down 3-4 MD a day! I was on tilt all the time and yet didn't feel good.
