Back to recording food. I was doing so well last month until about a week ago. I noticed if I'm not recording food I start mindlessly snacking. When I record I put thought into every bite of food, so I'm glad to get back to it. Also I'm trying out slim fast. My mom was successful on it, so I'm going to give it a go.

Yes, I find that logging my food has been the main reason I have been able to maintain my weight loss. It keeps me honest and when I see my daily calories reaching a certain point this guides me as to how and what I should eat for the rest of the day. Good luck with Slim Fast! I tried it many moons ago and I could only hack it for 2 meals. I simply thought for this many calories per can I would rather eat real food.

Like Josie Ann, I find that logging everything keeps me accountable. I'll still snack, but I accept the consequences, and try to limit myself. Good luck with Slim Fast -- but don't get down if it doesn't work. Find some good recipes, check out the fast food menus on websites -- there are foods out there that are good for you. I have a 1400-calorie limit, and according to what I've found online, I should have about 112 g. protein per day, maximum of 41 g. of fat per day (max 5 saturated fat per meal), and no more than 168 g. of carbs. I also aim for no more than 1/2 my calories to be allotted by lunchtime -- since dinner is usually the heaviest meal. Let us know how Slim Fast works for you! We can do this!!! :-)

I'm the same, if I don't record it's like I'm not thinking as much about what's going in. I did slim fast after my son was born, so about 8 years ago, and it was good for me at that time because it was easy. I'd just do the shakes for breakfast and lunch, with fruit and/or veggies on the side, and maybe a light snack here and there if I needed it and a healthy dinner and it worked well. The only thing for me was that it wasn't sustainable, I couldn't live with only the shakes forever, but I think for something easy and as maybe a jump start it's a good plan. Good luck!!
