I just had my first taste of soda in like months. It's so good. My daughter brought home a bottle of Sprite left over from a party at school. I had a stomach ache and used it as an excuse to have a glass lol. I then realized that I don't even remember the last time I had soda. It's been strictly coffee, water, and green tea for months. I'm not going to make a habit of drinking soda, but it's a nice treat.

In my opinion, soda is no more harmful than any other "unhealthy" food. If you want a sugary drink, count the calories and be happy. If you want a diet soda, accept the fact that it has chemicals in there that might not be to your benefit. But as most of us - the chemicals are not the biggest health concern - the weight is. So take all that into evaluation. Also, be aware that some people experience an insulin drop from diet soda, as the body is "mentally prepping" to have sugar from the soda. When it doesn't get sugar, you get sugar cravings. Personally, I NEVER experience this, but I know many who do. Take these things into consideration and do what is right for you, but rememer - everything in moderation. :)

A sip now and then is not going to hurt much.. but please stay away from diet ones.. I saw this tip where you can use coke to clean your toilet and i was like WTF!! if the acids in it can clean my toilet, why am i putting this in my body.. suffice to say I have not touched soda since then :p

Understood, and I know better. I think I just wanted something sweet. It's not going to be a habit.
