... and how was he weekend?

Weekend started off pretty good with the dancing class on Friday night. Different teacher, different experience, and I felt that everything went well. I guess I get the hang of it slowly but surely.

I really enjoyed it that most of the class went for a drink after. Uhhhh, what a challenge. Came into the cafe and there was a whole lot of fresh and good smelling popcorn on the tables. No, I did not touch it. Then they had crayfish of some kind on the daily menu. I asked since I was suspicious and it was slightly breaded :-( So, no mudbugs for me. And I would love to have some!!!! I had a burger with salad on the side. No bun. No clue how many calories but I stuck with the plan all day long.

Saturday the downfall.
I went to pick up red oak for the bedroom floor. Had rented a pick-up truck and was thinking I could manage by myself. Wrong!
My daughter J. met me at the rental place since she still had my ladder and I wanted it back. She asked who was helping and when she heard that I did not have any help she came along.
I still had a German farmers bread in the freezer from the dinner party and asked J. if she wanted it. Since she does not have a machine to slice it I put it in the oven to thaw while we were unloading.

Was I glad she was there. I had not imagined that the bundles were that heavy. 17 of them. I would have managed by myself if I had to. I would have opened the bundles and carried as much wood as I could at one time upstairs. But that would have taken forever and I would have been totally exhausted after.

So, after we were done I sliced the bread and we just could not help it. Get the butter and enjoy. I felt shortly after that my stomach did not really like it. Guess I have a slight gluten intolerance. But it was worth it.

J went back home and I finally brought the chairs and tables back to my friends since i had a truck. They were in my way ever since the party.

Dropping off the truck I was close to J's house and thought I pick up the cheese she had brought from Vermont and forgotten to bring along in the morning. That was around 5.30 pm. I finally came back home at 11.30 pm.
We had a wonderful time. J and R, her fiancee, asked me if I wanted to stay for dinner. They had plenty of lobster. No way would I say no. I tried to keep it low carb since I had the bread already. They had pasta (?) with the lobster, and I made some squash noodles. She had heard about it but never tried it. While I did that she made kale chips. Now, that surprised me!
Dinner went well but here comes the second blow of the day. Had a small cup of ice cream.... oh well, it was good and tomorrow is another day.

Sunday then went smooth. I did not record what I ate since I did not have real meals. Some here, some there since I was very distracted with J and R's wedding plans. No forbidden fruits, everything was according to the plan although I did not measure and record it.

Today went super. I recorded everything and I am doing fine.
What is still irritating me, and it has been like that before, I finish my meal and am looking for some food, preferably something sweet. I wish that would stop. I try to distract myself by having a cup of coffee with a dash, really just a dash, of Splenda, sometimes a diet coke or one Russel Stover sugar free candy.
To control this craving I take a small container with 1 oz of almonds along and throw one of the candies in my tote, not more. If I would have the bag around, be it almonds or the candies, they would be gone in no time. And I try to have only 5 almonds after breakfast if the craving is there. If I have the whole oz then I am not hungry for lunch. But since we are all creatures o habit....

Tonight I went onto the treadmill again. My Achilles tendon is still not okay. I was wearing a support and strangely it hurt more when I was walking than when I was jogging. Yes, I tried the interval again. 1 min jogging, 2 min walking for 30 (35) min. After the third round I thought I would give up and walk for the rest of the time but then, every time I came to the end of the 2 min walk I said, 'what the heck, give it a try.' And I manged. Noticed that it was a lot easier than in the beginning despite the pain. Maybe dancing helps :-) and it does not mean it went effortless. No, I was sweating like crazy and my pulse went up pretty high. Here as well, not as high as in the beginning and it came down a lot faster. I guess slowly but surely I am improving. Having that achieved made me feel really good.

Now, time to pack everything for tomorrow (can't say prepare since I cooked yesterday and am good for the week) and then off to bed.

Good night everyone :-)

Interval training is really good to build your fitness up. As soon as you get comfortable with what your doing, either increase your running time, decrease the walking time or up the speed, little by little. Lovely to read your having such a good time with your daughter :) Sleep well.

Schmetterling, that's what I intend to do, probably extending the running time and then reducing the walking time. Not sure which way. Time will tell.
