Atkins low carb/healthy, clean eating is my way of life. I love it. I've lost over 40 lbs. My belly is way smaller and was the first thing I really noticed changing, and I've lost about 18 all-over inches so far! I'm in an OWL group on Atkins and kinda
pre-/maintenance. Weight loss stalled a while back, so I know how to do maintenanc! I started fooling around with calories during the stall and lowering the calories and really watching carbs and portion sizes helped me take off more lbs. We moved from California to Oregon in late August and I've lost 10 more since being here. I'm sure increasing movement has helped. While unpacking, I let go of a bunch of clothes that are too big! I don't beat myself up if I go off plan, but I sure feel better when I stay on it. This is a way of life for me now and is just such a reward to myself. I am at my lowest in about 9 years. It is so worth the journey. I look back to when I started 5.5 years ago and am so grateful I did. The struggles and stalls made me stronger and I learned so much about how my body responds and how to tweak things now and again to kick start weight loss. I know how to maintain. I love this healthy way of eating! I do make some fantastic low-carb, sugar-free desserts, thanks to the many folks out there with their web sites and recipes! Thank you!
My partner and I have made this plan something we can life with for the rest of our lives. We pretty much eat the same foods. I appreciate FatSecret for providing us a place to log food and exercise (Thank you so much for the updates on the site!!!), chat, support, motivate, and be supported and motivated.

OY!
Well, I put on about 3-4 lbs while on vacation! Yuk! So, I'm back...logging food is the best way for me to get back on plan and finally get to goal and below! I did buy some new exercise clothes so I will be warm when out jogging and walking. I'm going to get full use out of them! It's cold here and I HAVE TO exercise if I want to take off lbs. I'm committed to succeed!

RDI and weight gain
Good for you! It takes some tweaking.

I just don't believe you can be sedentary and lose at a pace to make one happy. Move it to lose it! And it doesn't mean it has to be strenuous. Just do some moving.

RDI and weight gain
I agree with those of you questioning the RDI. I started tweaking my plan to break my plateau and lost 10lbs! I read a Jilliam Michaels article in a magazine and she talked about 1200 calories. If I stay around that, no more than 1400, and keep my net carbs low (I do Atkins), I lose. I'm about to break my next line and get to my goal in 5 lbs. Then I'll decide if I want to lose more. My measurements are going down and clothes are looser, even if I don't show any change on the scale. I've lost 30 total. I'm thrilled. I've made this plan my own so I will stick to it for life. I can't go by an arbitrary calculator. One size DOES NOT fit all! Success!

What to do about clothes?
Congratulations! Now you can sell your larger clothes on eBay and buy some in smaller sizes.
I also love NYDJ! I had no idea you could find them on eBay. I'm not on there enough to look. Cool!

I can eat off plan and it takes DAYS before the resulting 2 lbs comes off. But I don't get discouraged and hang with it, goal in site! Now I am back down ...
