Found this formula from a Runner's World article about water consumption. It was informative to see how much I may really need. I was consuming on average 144 ozs a day over the past week. Even though I sweat a lot....a lot, a lot...like a pig...always have and probably always will lol, I was still curious to see if it was at all possible to over hydrate. So the formula for a woman who *moderately* exercises is (in fluid ounces): female body weight × .31. That's roughly 62 fluid ounces a day for me (201 × .31) if I moderately exercised. I do believe my exercise is not moderate and is intense though so if I consume 20% more water to account for additional sweat loss that would equal roughly 74 ounces a day. I think I will try this new formula from now on and if im thirsty beyond that amount I will drink a few more ounces. Its so interesting learning about what my body actually needs. Im gonna continue googling different topics like a mad woman. :)

Also, it appears you have to burn 3500 calories to lose one pound. My caloric intake right now is around 10,000 calories per week and im supposedly burning roughly 20,000 calories per week which equals out to about 2.8 pounds lost per week. Now that I have a good feel on the numbers I will continue to play with them each day just to see what feels right to my body as well as the differences in results at different intake levels. I'll see what happens in a couple weeks. :)

I probably need to get a new scale...my current one is actually really old school. I need one that I wont need to adjust manually each morning. A digital one might yield more accuracy. Will see.

I read you should have half your body weight in oz. I also read something else I'd never considered; another reason people trying to lose weight are encouraged to drink more water is to replace the water you're no longer getting from food as a result of decreasing the food intake. I'd never made that connection; seems more logic than a 'diet trick'.
