Yep obese is a scary reality. But you can pull through it. Also if you start eating more homemade stuff you can usually enjoy all the same things with way less sodium, calories and a multitude of other additives. If quick during the week is best for you pick a day to do a bunch of food prep like cutting veggies or assembling things in freezer bags so you can spend more time with the family during the weekdays.

It is scary. I know I'm obese, but it's hits you different when you see it on the screen like that, or have the dr tell you.

When my fiancé went to the doctors they suggested that he lose weight, but he didn't listen. I guess it didn't feel real to him. It wasn't until he wanted a job creating 3D media for the Navy; he wondered how fit he would need to be in order to join. He was too overweight and knew he wouldn't be able to pass the physical tests. That was his motivation/scare that pushed him to lose the weight and keep it off. It can be done ericam16! It may be scary now, but you are definitely on the right path with making your own food.

I tend to disagree with the BMI. This, coming from someone who is in the process of losing weight herself. I moreso promote the healthy at any weight frame of mind. I've got a long way to go, but eventually I'm going to be stronger, trimmer and healthier. Everyone carries their weight differently, get down to what you feel comfortable at, not a number on a scale. If you're eating right and working out, your health is going to improve every day.
