jaime30024's Journal, 08 April 2013

This is journal entry #2 for the day...lol. Went to see DD swear in for the final time and she officially belongs to the Navy. I did not cry and neither did she. She was the only girl swearing in (and only Navy)...little petite her surrounded by these big tall guys going into the Marines. The Captain that swore them in was with the Navy and she talked to them and asked some questions. Asked if any of them had decided on doing their 20 years and my daughter said, "I am doing 20".

I do get another night with her tonight. Marines fly out to their boot camp today and she flies out tomorrow morning. When I left MEPS I said, "can I get a hug or is that too much?"....LOL....she put her hand out and shook my hand!!!!!!! hahahahaha I have to laugh about it and she had this grin on her face...haha. Love my girl!!

I remember when my daughter finished Air Force "boot camp" - I remember the beautiful girl that was sworn in only a few weeks earlier - but almost didn't recognize the confident young woman that strode (not walked, but almost strutted!) towards us when we went to Lackland AFB in San Antonio for graduation...She only did 4 years, but has been thinking about going into the reserves. So proud of her!!! And Proud of your girl, too! best of luck...
