CharleeSue's Journal, 08 April 2013

Well, I bit the bullet and it was painful! No, Painful...with a capital P. I am back to my March 1st weight. What the heck am I thinking? All that work for nothing. Now I am back at the beginning of another 'Back on the Wagon' ride. Today I have made notes to myself and put them all over the house. BE HONEST. BE ACCOUNTABLE. WRITE IT DOWN. EXERCISE. Reminders to keep me focused.

I have a definate pattern of over-eating in the evening. Watching TV is NOT my friend. I noticed last night, even though I was on the couch reading and the television was on in the background...at each commercial I had the urge to go get a snack. Another thing I have noticed are the constant food commercials in the evening. Total bombardment of food, food, food advertising. I am so glad summer is here. I rarely watch TV in the summer. I am looking forward to healthier evenings.

Tonight I start a Zumba class. I am looking forward to it but dreading it as well. Luckily I have a no-nonsense girlfriend to go with me. She'll be sure I get there. This is a great big help because I would tend to opt for skipping it. If I had all the money I have spent on health and fitness over the years, I could retire today!! This time I will be going. My hope is that in a couple of weeks I can write and say that I love it....and also love watching my body get healthier.

On a positive note, I am not back to the actual beginning. I have come to my senses before realizing a weight gain of epic proportions. I have confidence that I will be successful again starting right now. That's what counts. Perseverence and believing 'I can do this'. And I know I can. My goal for the month of April is to experience a few weeks of being solidly in the '20s'. Begin again Finnegan.

Have a healthy day. Make it a good one so when you go to bed tonight you can say 'Ahhh, I am a healthy person who made a day-full of healthy choices'. Amen.

You can do this! Also, have a fun time at your Zumba class. My daughters and granddaughter think that Zumba is the BOMB!!! :) In other words, they are addicted to Zumba! LOL!

Oh, I hope you love the Zumba as much as I do! I'm totally addicted to it & it has done wonders for my health. Just remember to keep moving, try to get the footwork first, then the rest will follow. Above all, feel the music and have FUN! I smile so much in class, and have extra energy after for hours, even when I leave covered in sweat. Every minute is a new beginning; you can do this! I despise TV commercials. I like being able to DVR my favorite shows & fast-forward through the pesky commercials.
