onmyway's Journal, 17 August 2010

Not going to record a weight today, my scale seems to be all over the place. Stepped on it four times, different weight every time...some higher than yesterday, some lower. I have no idea. lol Maybe it's telling me I'm weighing too much and it's getting tired of it. lol

I was back on track yesterday, stuck to the plan. Had oatmeal with cinnamon and apples for breakfast, pita bread pizza and veggies/fruit for lunch, tilapia with brown rice and salad for dinner. Battling a toe injury (don't ask me how I did it, I am drawing a blank)...feared it might be broken, but I can wiggle it a little today so maybe just a bad sprain. I vaguely seem to remember stumping my toes against a door a few days back, but it didn't seem that bad at the time. Yesterday it was pretty bad, very red and swollen, couldn't move it at all. I still worked out, but it frequently reminded me it was there. Looking better today.

Okay, time to get this day rolling. Have a great day buddies!

Yes, that scale thing can be very frustrating. I thought I did really well yesterday with the calories and exercise, yet my weight was up this morning. One steps on the scale hoping for good news and instead you get slapped in the face. Oh well, I will hang in there. It has to pay off in the long run, right?

Good job getting back on track with the eating. Sorry about the toe, hope it gets better soon.

Thanks, Shia. So far I'm not letting it interfere with my workouts. It is, however, getting in the way of housework. lol Ceceps...when I've been on track and my weight goes up anyway, I usually blame sodium. 9 times out of 10, it's the culprit.

Oh man, I hope your toe feels better soon. I came across a cut on the bottom of my foot just yesterday, and went "um, okay???", looked like someone cut it with a razor, perfect straight cut, have no idea what happened... I'm just accident prone. And the scale thing can be frustrating. I gave up on mine also. It won't budge off 203#. I keep asking and it says "request denied" LOL! Oh, and I was going to tell you that I did try the brown rice, and I liked it pretty well. I'll probably buy that from now on. Thanks for the info on it :)

Teresa, I have always been accident prone. Much of the time I am rushing around doing things, don't even notice bumps and bruises until something like this arises and won't let me ignore it. lol Glad you like the brown rice...I find I use it a lot in dishes where I ordinarily would have pasta. I can get by on fewer calories that way. :p Hope the cut heals quickly...possible you got it at the swimming pool? I always hear friends complaining that they or their kids cut their foot in the public pool.

Your probably right, I most likely got it at the pool. I am the same way with the bruises too. My thighs are always black and blue. My hubby swears I have a rough lover while he's at work, LOL! But I'm always bumping like the counters and the kitchen table, door knobs with my hips... you get the point and then bam bruise as big as my fist every time. I of course won't see them until later like during a shower or getting dressed and it'll look like someone beat me with a bat, LOL! I'm really suprised I've never broken a bone yet, cross my fingers, and knock on wood!

If you want a digital scale that gives the same weight every time and is very accurate to boot, try the Omron HBF-400. It's around $35.00 at Amazon (read the reviews). Have a great day onmyway, I hope you feel better!

I'll have to look at that, Info. Thanks. The one I have has been really good...it's seemed kind of odd lately, though, with inconsistencies. My husband has noticed the same. I'm thinking I will change the batteries today, see if that might be the issue.

I thought my scale was the only one that acted that way! I step too far up and it weighs me like a feather....too far back, I'm up 8 pounds. This is a clinical scale, too! Hang in there!

Thanks ns0829. I try to always step on it exactly the same...still thinking it must be batteries getting weak, but not sure yet. It's been a good scale up until now.
