sjcoray's Journal, 27 March 2013

Another kind of rough workout last night, feeling a bit tired. And walking the stairs up to the office this morning my legs felt tight. I'm enjoying working out a lot, it feels good, like I'm doing the right thing, but I'm wondering if I'm starting to beat on my body a little too much. So now trying to figure out how to adjust every 4 weeks or so to give me a lighter workout schedule (while still not losing momentum) to let my body recover some.

Yesterday though, general, was a great day. The scale finally moved in the right directioni (who cares if it was only one pound). I signed the offer letter from my company to go from contract employee to permanent. And I heard from Motivation (seriously, if he is the main driver that keeps me going in the right direction, I'm okay with that - eventually I'll become more self sustaining).

Today is busy. Almost forgot to finish writing this :P

fantastic news on the permanent position ... congrats! and you certainly sound like you need to build in more rest time or vary the rotation of your workouts so you are not over doing it. rest is key.

I hear ya on figuring what is the best long term workout schedule for youself. I think the same thing every day. Today took off. One pound, YA! I am a little stuck and can't wait to see a one or two pound drop... any day any day and it will be 3, then MORE. Your are doing so well working out, can't wait till I am at your level again!

A pound is a pound girl!!! I pinned this image of 1 lb of fat that says something like still think losing a pound is not a big deal? Its true!! Congrats on that and the permanent position!

Hey Steph, my trainer told me this morning that he LOVES pain and the feeling of soreness. He also always says that it's lifting is 80% strength, 20% recovery. So I'm with you. recovery is a good thing. So glad to hear you're well and working out! Have a great day. And congratulations on the permanent status. Go YOU!
