I have doing Atkins on and off for 10 years. Originally I lost 50 lbs and felt fabulous. Best shape I had been in for years. Then, I started eating whatever I wanted and saw that weight come right back (35 lbs of it). So now we start over.....again.
I work full-time, have 3 children and a grandson at home, and have returned to school for a 2nd Bachelor degree after getting my Masters in Psychology. I restarted Atkins about a month ago and after an 8 lbs loss the first week, stalled out!!! It was frustrating to say the least. Then as I was looking around at the Atkins web site I saw someone talking about the "old" Atkins vs. "new" Atkins and it got me to thinking - why was I so successful 10 years ago and never since?
Atkins bars and shakes. I didn't use them way back when and now I was. And since I am older (gulp) my body doesn't seem to like all sugar alcohols I'm thinking.
So, I restarted my restart :-) No bars, no shakes, nothing but food. I do still use the frozen breakfasts and lunches a couple of times a week but those aren't full of the bad sugars.
Hopefully it helps.....can't hurt, right?
